Don't forget it's not just the Council's problem...

Gives me a chance to use one of my favourite words though:

    Shambolic.

I know but that'll be the way the owners see it. Battle lines have been drawn and you've got Conway and Houghton in the middle. More chance of middle east peace happening before the ground issue is resolved.

Yes, my memories will be a wet day, a miserable performance and getting home to find my jeans were that wet they weighed 2 stone.
That, and the jobsworth c0ck of a steward asking everyone to return to their seats as standing at the back was causing difficulties for other fans. Even though the reality was, total respect amongst fans who were happy to help each others efforts to stay dry without inconveniencing a single fellow red. Courtesy in abundance.

Not really? It could easily be safe for 10 people but not safe for 2,000 people.

Sort the damn problem out of who owns what let the club owners buy the ground and redevelop the west stand and put some other use into it to make money

I suppose my point is that it's an asset jointly held by the Cryne family. That asset has been paid for by another of their assets, the football club, until they sold it and recouped their cash.

IMHO, there's a moral responsibility on them, not the council. Unless the council have had cash out I'm unaware of.

Why not do this at the start of the season?

Is the ground 50/50 still between the club and the Crynes?

Yes as Conway and Chien refused to buy Cryne's share as agreed.

Maybe so but I've not got a good gut feeling about this. Why would the CEO pose the question of whether folk wanted to move from Oakwell at the meeting?

Their decision, due to this supposed covenant. After all the Council and the Crynes managed to purchase it.

If we move from Oakwell then so be it, loads of happy memories which will still be there regardless of whether we're playing at Oakwell or not.

To be fair after the Doyle’s and what’s subsequently gone on at Derby and S6 most of us agreed it was a good plan

Nah, not for me, the short distance from ground to Tarn is very important for many fans and for different reasons

It's not just that though is it? The owners won't spend a penny of their own money as we know so that leaves the club in massive debt to someone for the stadium. Plus the impact on Barnsley as a community, pubs etc suffering reliance on a car to get there etc etc. Oakwell is nowhere near the worst football stadium, not even in the championship is it the worst. I'm sorry, but I don't trust the owners as far as I can throw them on this one.
