Newsbot, can we have the next steps on when our billionaire owners will put their hands in their pockets and spend some coin instead of looking down the back of the settee for coppers all the time. What an absolute shower of sh*t this all is, the club is going backwards on and off the pitch, this is embarrassing. Conway, Chien Lee, the Crynes, the council, Toby Tyke etc etc everybody concerned needs to get in a room and sort this mess out quick sharp and put some bulbs in the 40 inch scoreboard they bought from Makro whilst they are at it.
I thought next steps meant how the west stand issues would be resolved. I cant see football club owners spending on something they dont own. Cant see ground owner spending on something they dont know if they will own.
The biggest take out from that is that we won't be selling any other tickets until we've rehomed or refunded all fans from the West Stand. I can't see a way "the Club/consortium" can take any positives out of that. Not only do we lose match day revenue for the West Stand, we also have potentially a thousand pro-rata season ticket refunds and no additional pay on the day revenue from the other stands. If it's not safe to use and beyond economic repair, it needs to redeveloped in some way.
They're very obviously not committing to actually doing any remedial work in those press releases, are they? What a shambles.
Forgive me if I’m being a bit thick (it’s been a long day at work already) but where is the stadium map to find available seats so I can then ring up? Or do we just have to ring up and get suggested seats? I know there’s the option of going to the ground but that isn’t available until Monday is it?
If the roof in the West is part of the problem then in high winds wouldn`t parts of the Ponty be unsafe for spectators too?
The map seems to have been taken down which is useful. Not sure how they are expecting people who don't live or work in Barnsley to go to the ground. Bit of a shambles really.
Must be thinking of when I used to go to reserve games used to be some at the back of the lower tier.
Exactly. I’ll be working all next week but will hopefully be able to get down on my dinner maybe, which is lucky for me but as you’ve said, for people that aren’t close by, pretty much impossible to get to the ground. I know they have set box office hours, which is fair enough, but could they not increase them a bit to help out?
It wouldn't be that difficult to show the views from the seats online, that would be by far the easiest solution for us West Stand refugees.
Someone will almost certainly be legally obliged to repair it pursuant to the lease. Hypothetically speaking, if the owners were obliged to repair the stand and the club were to obtain reports suggesting it is in disrepair and must be closed then the club would potentially have a cause of action for breach of lease.
