My point is that if the West stand had been condemned for legitimate reasons, it wouldn't make any sense to not move the stewards to a stand where people are, rather than leaving them in an empty stand and not selling more away tickets.

Can't you give the West stand a quick test with your multimeter? That should tell us the truth.

If that was the case we would be having a lot less anger on here though as it hasn’t been closed because it’s unsafe

There's plenty of continuity after 134 years... and a fair bit of resistance to it too.

It must have taken you three weeks, or more, to put this post together.
    Great work though.

Well, yeah. I was just replying to the fact that someone said we've probably taken them from the West stand that's just been shut and I just thought that, now that it is shut, it'd be daft not to. It just popped into my head when I read it, as my mind's like that. It doesn't mean that I in any way agree with it being shut, it's just my mind said 'it's shut, why would we not move the stewards?' I'm aware that it probably happened the other way around.

It wouldn’t bother that much if they were just honest about it.

    Something like….

‘We’re losing money not getting the away fans, so on a temporary basis, we’re closing the West stand and re-deploying those resources into the away end. It’ll keep us more competitive and the income is needed after Covid-19’.

Makes total sense on a business level - just a ***** way of doing it…….

I'd definitely bother me but I'm still bothered this way too but now I think they're liars on top.

Me and 6 other mates sit in the West Stand, and have for years. I’m gutted.

But, if they said this, I can see the bigger picture. Businesses have been ravaged by Covid-19 and it make total business sense. Hence why they closed the other half of the stand years ago.

Just wish they’d admit it and done it in The Summer.

Why? It only holds about 27 people and we haven't filled it since they bought the club, so why would we spend millions to replace it with a bigger stand which would look even emptier?

Probably not my finest post granted but the sentiment is still there , if there’s a bandwagon between now and the General Election he’ll be on it

It would look more appealing for people to sit in.

Money invested in the club by current owners -£750,000.

Previous owner wrote off loans of over £5m and made donations of over £2m. The sale of the club repaid a further £7m of loans made by the owner and the £5m previously written off. Slightly different ownership models.

But the majority of people sitting in it would just be moving from another stand. The state of the west stand isn't what draws supporters in or keeps them away

I know mate. I'm not disputing that. It appeals to the fans who have been coming here for decades. They feel more at home in that stand. I'm a personal fan of it.

I had hoped they might show some sense & reverse the decision about closing the west stand but this pretty much confirms that won't be happening.

I’m sure they’ll feel at home in the East Stand Lower most of them used to be in the West Stand originally including me
