Haha I had thought about that. I do occasionally go to watch Sheffield Steelers ice hockey team, and they've never lost a game I've been to. It must just be Barnsley where I leave all of my negative energy.
Have you got any plans for what to do before or after the game? Sleaford itself is pretty enough, though nothing to write home about. It does have a nationally famous chippy in The Elite, but it's not particularly close to the ground. However, if you've got a bit of time then I'd recommend heading to the village Heckington. It's on the same side of town as the ground, and has a micro brewery in front of the famous eight sailed windmill. Lovely little village, and if the weather is good you can sup a few pints outside as the brewery has a small bar. The ground itself is just out of town, so I'd guess that the nearest pub in Sleaford itself is about a mile away. https://www.8sailbrewery.co.uk/ Edit: Just checked and the weather forecast is pretty good. I'd definitely do Heckington if you have time. There's a small cafe next to the brewery which is pretty nice, so you can grab a bite there and a pint from the micro brew. It really is micro - looks like somebody's garage! But the ale is really nice!
I have BT TV & Sport, I will be watching Bromley Vs Torquay. I am unable to get to Oakwell these days so I get my Football fix on saturdays on BT . Normally a Premier match mid day and a Vanarama league match at 5pm.
Just arrived at Sandygate. Cracking little club house they've got here. TV with a different channel on whichever way you turn. Reasonably priced pint. Warm welcome from the staff (probably volunteers).
I take back all of my positivity, I've just realised Uriah Rennie is club president. Will never forgive him for the Doncaster debacle.
Harrogate 5 Scunthorpe 0 At Half Time. Harrogate are a really good side and play some classy football. Scunthorpe would make us look like Brazil - as awful a half as I’ve seen in a long time from them. Big day out for the Irons. Flares on the pitch just before the half time whistle as well.
Going all @Stephen Dawson on you. Strangely they are from Nottingham though... and they don't look like Mods either. How dispiriting is that?
Sadly not a good result for the he Railwaymen, after scoring first they succumbed 5-1 to a well organised and physical side from the West Country. Men against boys I'm aftraid.
Here's an odd one. Whilst I was queuing for a pint just after the 2nd half had kicked off, the Glasshoughton goalkeeper was booked for the colour of the under shorts he was wearing beneath his shorts.
