Bit of a deviation from talking about seats and stewards. Does Fury school him again, or has he been complacent in his prep? Wilder's proven himself to be a one-trick pony, but only takes one right-hander and it's lights out...
Fury again for me, although as you say it only takes one right hander KO from Wilder and it's all over. I do think Wilder relies on that tactic too much though. I think Tyson will go to town on him before Wilder goes down, round 8 or 9.
Whichever way it goes, I really hope there isn't another rematch clause. Whoever wins, I'd love to see a unification fight with Usyk (assuming he beats AJ again in the rematch)
There isn’t another rematch clause. After the fight they have 30 days to make undisputed before the WBC enforces their mandatory - which will be Dillian Whyte unless he loses to Wallin. Obviously no chance of undisputed as AJ has enforced his rematch clause. Fury on points as Wilder will, I think, at least try and box a bit smarter. Won’t win the fight but should last the 12 rounds.
I was listening to 5Live's boxing podcast yesterday and according to Shelly Finkel, Wilder's manager, there isnt another rematch clause. Obviously you can never say never but I think this is it where these two are concerned. I would love to see that fight too, and for me Usyk beats AJ again. Was saying to my girlfriend yesterday I can see that happening and Usyk/Fury, and then maybe Wilder/Joshua. Or maybe Whyte/Joshua again.
A bit concerned about Fury's prep or lack of but he is still a much better boxer than Wilder. I expect Wilder to try and 'box' a bit smarter and all it takes is one of those right hands to finish things. However I think Fury takes it on points...
What's this about lack of prep on Fury's part? This isn't the first time I've heard someone say it, I'm just curious
Hoping Fury comes through and finally puts this all to bed. Though the whole division is tiresome to me. Now have to wait 6 months for Joshua to have a rematch and the winner of this will likely have to fight Whyte. Endless rematching and inactive fighters it's just boring.
Can only see Wilder winning by KO. I don't think Wilder ever wins on points. Weird things have happened in boxing though. Looking forward to it...
Think it's a comfortable victory for Fury. Can't see how the extra weight will assist Wilder because it didn't help him last time out. Hopefully there is no excuses post-fight from either fighter also. Wilder's team have already tried to make a fuss over Tyson's gloves at the rules meeting following yesterday's weigh in.
He needed weight on his legs which I think will help. Anything that improves his punch resistance will only help as he’s such a weak heavyweight and never relied on his boxing speed before. Depends on the undercard but as it’s mainly the heavies you’ll probably get a 4:30am ring walk and underway before 5am Always get it with Tyson because he’s so relaxed when you see him, but there have been rumours he’s not been training as often. Rubbished by everyone who knows him but he did seem to get in to camp late and was popping up all over the place when Wilder was in training. Weight was on point yesterday though at close to 19 stone so not convinced there’s too much in it.
Wilder heaviest he’s ever been and made a thing about not being roughed up this time. Tyson still nearly 3 stone heavier though.
Good chance it will be later than that from what I've read. Wqs talking to one of the young guys at work yesterday and he said he was off to gig and would stay up and watch it. Realised I'm definitely getting old as I said I might get up and watch it.
Fury to school Wilder again In my opinion hope he gets the stoppage though can’t trust the American judges
Yeh I think deep down there is full respect from Tyson for whoever he gets in the ring with, and no doubt he will be ready. Yes he's had things going on this year, but that's life. Everyone has their own battles. From coming back from rock bottom I don't think he will be fazed or under prepared. I can see another Fury win, but of course it could go either way. How are you calling it Ben? Ps just seen your prediction above!
I’ve just put £20 on Liam Smith to win and Fury to win on points. Colours firmly pinned to the mast now! Whitey wouldn’t like it if I didn’t say that he’s backing Fury by KO within nine rounds.
