Estonia v Cymru WCQ -- at Tallinn Estonia -- on Sky -- Enjoy! - Ramsey (captain?) - Kieffer playing, (Bale not playing.)
I did a scout report on Eric Sorga a couple of years ago. Thought he would have been a decent signing for us.
I was watching him while he was still at Flora. Seemed a very natural finisher albeit in a weak league at the time.
Come on then, because I can't be arsed to Google, why do some Welsh people insist on using the Welsh word Cymru but a lot pretty much never use it? And any idea how we managed to get Wales from Cymru?
Pre Anglo-Saxon invasion of GB c450 AD the people living in what is now Cymru were known as Kymru. The Anglo Saxons didn't conquer this part of GB and they referred to the Kymru tribes as Wales/Weils/ meaning foreigners. So over time the land where the Kymru lived became known as Wales. Somehow the Welsh language survived despite efforts from London to ban it. In my grandparents day Welsh was not allowed to be spoken in the school playground. (similar situation in N Ireland schools nowadays with the Irish language.) With the establishment of the Welsh Senedd the Welsh language has official status and protection. It is taught in all Welsh Schools. So it makes sense to use the Welsh name for what is a Welsh country. I hope I've got this right !
Big shock this evening. Kieffer actually had the ref rule in his favour and give a free kick to Cymru! Need a 2nd goal. Estonia looking threatening on the counter and from set pieces.
