Dodworth Tap, ok. Loads better than when it was the Station Inn. But it still only serves standard beer with a poor bottle selection. If you go in expecting summat like Sheffield Tap you'd be disappointed.
Sorry, old mate, I haven't been in the Dil Raj & Station Inn for years. I do like the food from Curry Mahal, though.
Both curry houses excellent when I lived there many moons ago. Dilraj a bit more up-market. I don’t know the Tap but think it’s part of Wentworth, Talbot, Darton Tap group which are all good pubs with decent ales. I used to go in the Travellers and the one they knocked down at the top of Dod’erth bottom.
Curry Mahal is really good quality. I've had a few take aways from them which have always been decent. Trying to persuade the missus to go with me soon to eat in.
It's down to personal preference but for me, Curry Mahal is far superior. Unfortunately I'm yet to give Dodworth Tap a try, but certainly from looking inside it looks very inviting and a welcome addition to Dodworth.
Seem to think @Stahlrost is a Curry Mahal fan. It was decent the last time I had a takeaway from there but its a couple of years ago now.
Dodworth Tap lovely pub, but acoustics bad (like No 7 in town). Mahal is my favourite, I'm in there once or twice a week. Not been in Dil Raj for years since they started getting creative with their bills back then, so can't comment on what they're like today. Warning: the car park behind the Mahal has a 2 hour limit which is now being enforced. A leisurely curry could work out expensive...
Always Curry Mahal for me. Dodworth Tap is nice, haven’t been upstairs yet but apparently is quite swish.
He was struggling with a BFC detail yesterday & now doesn’t remember taking me for a curry?! NURRRRSSE!!
