I’m very mixed. I’ve never been his biggest fan, and his record against well established international teams is dire. That said, he’s got us to a World Cup semi and a Euro final in two competitive outgoings. The Qatar World Cup will be interesting as the final will only be seen as progression.

Question is, who do we get? I’ve been a massive fan of England national teams being managed by Englishmen, ideally by former players who have some kind of reputation. Personally wouldn’t mind Frank Lampard or Stevie G to come in and work with the lads we have, with the former more likely. Lampard also did a fantastic job with a good handful of our current players at Chelsea. What I will say is though, Scott Parker will be England manager in a couple of years. Suits everything we stand for.

The latter would certainly not surprise me tbh, he’s like Southgates mirror image really......a think at times he gets unnecessary stick whilst his record is very good. Most teams that line up to play England often stick 11 men behind ball which sets the tone for most games unfortunately

Not trying to be...... hilarious at all, the squads you mention didn't have the strength in depth we have now, we could have won the world Cup and should have won the euros
