Cant answer that but they were actively looking so must have budgeted or at least thought about it . Some of the accusations against these owners are crazy . I want some answers and things clearing up as much as anybody else but I can’t go down the twilight zone as some have done , Maybe there’s genuine reasons things have happened or maybe not .
We still don’t know the ins and outs and until we hear officially it’s a business dispute . Some of the conspiracies are mind blowing . SuperTyke just questioned that he made the post do I was just trying to help him remember his post to you .
Forrest did actually get another 500 tickets, it was on Twitter and very late, literally announced either on the day or the day before. This is another thing I never understand, just send all possible tickets straight away. Why send so many then have sales stopped whilst more come, it’s bonkers. They only had another 100 turn up, such late notice for people sorting coaches / leaving work early etc. The north stand situation has been a farce for years now. It’s still 2000 below capacity, yet you visit places like Burnley and have fans practically touching each other in the away end. Sheff Utd have a really small concourse yet the stand is full!
There is a potential irony about this thread that nobody has mentioned , it seems that everyone including the mafia at the top table seem to assume that Utd will actually sell their extra 2000 tickets ,well I personally do not think they will , apart from the fact that it is a ridiculous kick off time and coupled with the obscene ticket charges & history suggesting that Utd fans normally turn up in a couple of taxis then the chance of them selling 4000 is optimistic to say the least, personally after peeing off me & another 999 west stand fans I hope this backfires on our owners & turns out a costly error both in PR & finances .
They definitely will, they took 4,000 to Hull for a lunchtime KO t'other week. We're much closer and have a high chance of gifting them 3 points so I think they'll all be fine paying 36 quid for the privilege. Which makes it even more baffling/hilarious that they barely brought a couple thousand a few seasons running back before they went down to L1
the ins and outs are pretty readily available. There is a commercial lease in place until 2028 at £150k a year. The safety inspection has found the stand fit to be used but with some advisory improvements. The club have shut the stand instead falsely claiming it had been deemed unsafe. More broadly the lease places all maintenance requirements on the tenant. Even not having a working scoreboard puts the club in breach of the lease. When the lease ends regardless of what they do in the meantime the club, if they wish to end the lease, will be expected to return the ground to the owner in the state they received it in minus some aspect of depreciation
Agreed. Just because it's a Sunday doesn't mean people will be free to go. There is morning junior Football for a start.
They did take a good following to Hull & they might sell their allocation for Oakwell but I still think lunchtime on a Sunday at £ 36 is not an incentive for a team that traditionally do not bring many to Oakwell , we will see & to be honest I am that disgusted with our owners I just hope everything they do back fires on them.
It’s gone up again! I’m glad the north stand is getting closer again, still 1000 off what it was, but it’s getting closer!! “Approximately 3,700 tickets have been sold for our game against Barnsley out of an increased allocation of 4,733.”
So they arent going to sell out - bit sad really - the Massives in S6 always used to manage it. I am so pleased that my forced sacrifice of a good seat amongst family and Friends allows the away fans to sit in comfort
