I'd say it is the main stand. It's where the dugouts are, the boardroom is, the directors box and where the media are hosted.

I guess when you look at it like that. I was thinking more around capacity and attendance.

It is the Main Stand, I agree.

And to be fair, the Boardroom and Director’s Lounge are quite plush. In fact when you’re underneath the stand you forget how it looks externally. The new media and scouting lounge that was done out a few years ago looks well too.

I think the old changing rooms are just used as store rooms now.

Is this where we are storing all our training videos/guides on how to defend, shoot and score. Markus just hasn't been introduced to them yet due to staff shortages, maybe?

Interesting that they think our badge is the best in English Football ! I always thought so tbh especially after the **** a certain CEO tried to introduce .

Speaking of badges, why did we change to the town coat of arms? I've never been keen on it myself. My favourite badge was the well and oak leaf.

Good question. I've always disliked the coats of arms style badges, just looks naff. The oak and well was a good one, but my favourite was the toby tyke one that was used for a while with the contrast of the black surround.

Was done under the Peter Doyle era if Memory serves. He wanted the closer links to Tarn and club by using the Council’s crest

So do I. It's the town's crest, it's the town's club. The two should go hand in hand.

As Tarntyke as put re the Doyle era .
It’s funny you should say that but people I’ve met up and down the country (Holidays etc) it’s a subject brought up by many who really think our badge is fantastic .
Its been brought up in many conversations I’ve had with fans from all over the country not by me but it seems it’s very popular and when they ask who the figures are (most already knew) they like it even more .
In most cases as soon as I say I’m from Barnsley the majority of the next questions is do I watch BFC and then the Badge .
    PS
I should point out that most have worked out the coal miner and were surprised when I told them the other was a glass blower and then the short history lesson begins :)

    Related question:
Is there still a glass industry in Barnsley?

I’m asking cos I never really consider Donny to be a glass centre, but we’ve still got a large employer (I thought Pilkingtons was still here too, but it’s not) but if anyone asks about our industrial heritage I’d say; trains, coal, plumbing, wire, with chemicals and glass being afterthoughts.

I may be wrong, but I think, in Donny, what was Rockware Glass is now Ardaagh (probably spelt wrong) Glass. And in Barnsley, what was Redfearns is also Ardaagh.
    Beatson Clark is long gone.
But historically Barnsley literally had loads of glassworks. I once saw an old map in what was Mad Geoff’s barbers at Darfield, and I think Wombwell, alone, had something like four.

The podcast mentions that the club currently pay a stadium rent of £150k per annum. Can anyone confirm or deny this sum? I assume half goes to the council, half to the Cryne family.

I'm old enough to remember when Woods Glassworks was on Pontefract Road Hoyle Mill near the old brewery site they used to blow glass there until it shut in the early 80s.
