Can't agree. It's an easy way out for some murderers then. Now being locked up in cell for the rest of their lives and no freedoms. Makes them suffer. Yes it costs tax payers, but make them sit in a cell for years on end. Good
The problem is some of those that have died after being sentenced to death because it was. 100% proven, have later been found not guilty. Can’t bring them back can we?
Far worse and controversial jokes are made on a regular basis by actual comedians so I do have sympathy with your view here. Time should make no difference to if something is acceptable to say or not but we all know it does.
Two Mp's stabbed in recent years for going about their jobs - what the hell is this country coming to! Certainly no fan of his party but Jesus nobody deserves this... thoughts go to his family at this sad time.
It's absolutely horrible news to see anyone attacked and killed just going about their job and at that the job of serving our democracy. Thoughts with his Family at this horrible time.
Its been a tough evening, I won’t lie. A little bit morbid, a little bit melancholy. Thank you for your kind thoughts, 3 points and a schopp master class would help for sure!! ;-)
During Obama’s term executions were about 70% higher per year than they were during Trump’s term. Im not here to defend Trump in any way, but it’s not half odd the weird stuff people make up about him while deifying Obama.
Isn't a lot of that down to the fact that in recent years more and more individual states have been calling moritoriums or banning the death penalty outright? The only executions that the president has anything directly to do with are those of prisoners on federal death row, which went up exponentially under Trump, especially in his lame duck period. Before Trump, the last federal execution had taken place in 2003, long before Obama came into office.
Spot on, Obama was pushing other states with the help of his Vice President Biden to end state sanctioned executions. Obama wasn't a saint he used drone strikes far too readily but that's a separate debate.
https://www.healthline.com/health-news/will-pharmaceutical-companies-kill-death-penalty More to do with pharmaceutical companies refusing to sell states the cocktail of drugs they need than anything political as far as I am aware . That politicians may have taken advantage of the situation to make them appear more humane is a mute point . Big pharma did nt want to be associated with death row .
I knew it would nt be long . Can anyone explain the difference between a terrorist murderer and a non terrorist murderer and why it matters ?
More than likely but I've a feeling it's going to morph into a completely different issue for political ends .
