That it is a done deal that we will be playing at NY Stadium Rotherham next season. Think it’s a load of tosh myself, but some around me seem to give it credence. Don’t you just love the rumour mill

    Suspect thats just mischievousness

I mean, even these owners wouldn't move to a ground that would cost us more in rent and only had a capacity of 12k

    I call bull

That would be a good way to alienate the fan base even more.

That news would go down like a lead balloon.

The only way I'd be any kind of okay with that is if it was a temporary thing while a new stadium was being built.

But, I think it's a pile of babbabooey.

If that's true ut makes closing the West stand decision even more unfathomable. Plus they're going to pay rent on an empty stadium?

You think the solution is to flatten oakwell and build a completely new one? Why? 3 of the stands are more than good enough

    12k capacity is immaterial. Doubt there’d be 500 there….

Same game day rumours that had Schopp sitting in the dugout during half time and Benson and Schopp falling out?

East stand is old now by modern standards, and none of them are exactly state of the art - unless you like your decor soviet brutalist style. Maybe sprayed concrete is all the rage in hipster circles?

Someone causing mischief I think. If we move out of town the Rotherham ground would be so big that those who went could lie out over a few seats. I wouldn't even watch us in the Premier League if our home games were out or town.

We’re not Tottenham, do you think if we magically had a new stadium it would look radically different to NY or Keepmoat? It’s all still the same concrete inside.

What are you suggesting then? Simply refusing to play at oakwell while they build a stadium elsewhere? That makes even less sense

Just like almost every other club in England then.
I'm not a fan of the decor in my living room, I was going to go to b&q and buy some Dulux but now that you mention it I might build a new house instead.

Exactly. I'd want a wider, cushioned seat, loads more legroom and waiter service at the very least!!

The East Stand and it's massive concourse would be easy to make a bit more "luxury" or "modern". It just needs someone who cares to invest a bit of cash and give it a bit of TLC..

Well, considering the only reason we'd need to ground share while we build a new stadium is if we didn't have access to Oakwell, how would we play at Oakwell?

What I’m saying is that if we made the decision to stay and built a new west stand, it wouldn’t be finished until 2023 season even if they started it by the end of this season. Which let’s face it is highly unlikely to happen. Then you’d need to look at the east stand and so on, so you’d probably be able to find a new ground for the same price as oakwell is going to cost us over the next 20 years.
