…can’t stand them…awful the abuse Steve Bruce has suffered and now they are piling in on their only decent player after he put out a lovely message on Twitter

 

Haven't a load of sympathy for Bruce but St Maxim is lovely and they don't deserve him!

 

Didn't he invent machine guns or did he just Hiram?

 

Would love it if it all went tits up! Can't stand the arrogance of them.
A lot of them justifying the abuse of Steve Bruce because he's been given around an £8m pay off!

The abuse is just horrible and unjustified, Steve Bruce has always come across as a humble, decent fella.
Getting the sack in real life usually means starting again from scratch, a football manager losing his job and receiving £8mil IS NOT getting the sack.

 

It’s wrong what they are doing, but.in a similar situation I could see the same happening at any club, including us.
If we get slaughtered on Sundaywatch the comments then

 

I don’t think we should be commenting on anyone else’s fans behaviour. This place is horrendous of late. Look at all the name calling in the last few days aimed at mainly the manager but also Conway

 

If we loose on Sunday people will quite rightly demand schopp gets sacked. But with Bruce they have attacked him personally, mocking his appearance. Apart from one or two morons I can’t see Barnsley fans acting this way

People go on about the millions he as earned and the pay off he as received, its as though they are condoning and supporting the vile things people up there have posted and sent him, I would also imagine many who have posted stuff also support mens mental health

 

From a neutral perspective

1) He left Wednesday in the lurch to go to Newcastle.
2) Newcastle are in the relegation zone

Don't get all the sympathy for his sacking. Personal remarks are uncalled for though.

 

1)He left fowls to join his boyhood club, probably not the best way of doing it, but I am sure if we were all in his shoes we would have done same to get his dream move.
2) Both Rafa and Bruce had around 2 years in charge. Both ended with the same points tally of 90. Bruce lost one more game in that time than Rafa but under Bruce they scored more goals yet one gets hailed a genius, the other is called cabbage head.

The abuse and criticism he's had is totally unfair and unjust. He is not the worlds best manager etc. but he is no where near as bad as the fans make him out to be. They are only down in bottom 3 now cos old owner wouldn't buy decent players.

 

Not disagreeing with any of that but this outpouring of sympathy seems a bit OTT. He being a Geordie will know what some of the fans will be like It's life, you take to some people more than others. Look at Moyes, Sunderland fans detest him whereas Everton and West Ham fans don't.

Exactly. You don't get to manage 1000 professional games if you're useless.

 

I personally think people outside the club are backing him cos the abuse doesn't seem to add up. If he was to blame for all the issues and they had been relegated etc. etc. then maybe fair enough but as stats prove he has done no worse than Rafa did yet he is being slated non stop despite being a local lad. Yet Rafa, is regarded one of their best managers of recent times yet has a near identical record to Bruce who they all seemingly hate.

Managers and players have to know to expect some stick online, but what he is getting is a joke really.

 

I think there’s a lot of resentment from Newcastle fans towards the media.

Bruce’s mates in the media such as Luke Edwards of the telegraph & bbc & Ashley’s business partner Rio Ferdinand on BT constantly telling fibs about the running of the club to support their mates.

The Rafa & Bruce comparisons only make sense if they had the same team. Anyone can see that Bruce has got far better attacking options whilst players like Schar, Lascelles, Longstaff & Shelvey have regressed massively under Bruce. There was talk of Lascelles & Longstaff getting England caps when Rafa was managing them. Now they barely look premier league quality. Longstaff almost went to Man Utd at one bit

 

No issue with him being sacked it just seems strange the hatred that he received from day 1. He led a very poor side with hardly any investment to two mid table finishes. The football wasn’t great but Rafa’s teams used to send me to sleep.
We’ve all had managers we’ve disliked including Schopp but the personal abuse and hatred that this guy has had over a sustained period of time seems way OTT.
If / when Schopp is sacked if Helick came out with a tweet saying “sorry to see you go, you were a top bloke, kind to me, a great man” I just can’t see our fans attacking him.
It annoys me because everyone says things like “Newcastle fans are the best fans in the country” and I just don’t see it. They turn on managers in a real nasty way. They even turned on Bobby Robson (people forget that). The press up there doesn’t help. Very nasty and intrusive.
