I'm throwing this guys name into the mix to be our next manager. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jimmy-thelin/profil/trainer/28565
I know he did wonders at Jönköpings - he took them into Allsvenskan for the first time since, I think, the 1960's. And he could yet win the league with Elfsborg. They are only two points off the top, albeit in fourth, with enough games left to change that.
I'm just looking at the Sweden link with our CEO and the fact that he's a young successful manager. Might stick a fiver on it tomorrow.
1.5 ppg average, that's close to playoff form. Not sure what the leagues are like there though if I'm honest. If he's been managing a Celtic or Rangers equivalent then thatd make him ****
I think there are a couple of teams that are the Rangers/Celtic of the Allsvensken but Elfsborg aren't one of them.
Malmö, and IFK Göteborg, are the big two. But IFK have been towing for a while now. If you finish above Malmö, you have a decent shot at winning the league.
Who's managing Cudworth these days? We some how managed to tempt Markus Schopp away from TSV Hartberg, a club based in the village of Hartberg in Austria which has a population just below 6,500 (six and a half thousand) who play on a field in the middle of a running track. Similarly, Cudworth has the Dorothy Hyman stadium, although that is a fair bit bigger than the one in Hartberg, and the population of Cudworth is almost 11,000, so you never know, if we really pushed the boat out, we could, possibly, persuade a manager who is nearly twice as prestigious to join us if we went for the Cudworth fella. Onwards and upwards. Come on you Reds.
Being a cudeth lad I thought nobody would have sussed the plan....I hold my hands up ....lol..... But it's not me although I along with many more could do a better job than what's taking place at the moment... Bye the way I've been approached many a time.. but....I'll leave that to folks. imagination
It's a very small pitch at the Hyman, so maybe they will get us playing that tight passing game a little bit better.
Has Schopp come in and done a Cloughie? "Val's gone. I'm the gaffer now. You can forget about your 5th place finish last season. It doesn't matter. It's my way or the highway. We're playing out from the back because I say so." In the end the players have downed tools and are carrying out the bare minimum without disgracing themselves in order to get rid.
