So if a signings good its down to the spreadsheet. If a signings bad its down to Conway. If a managers good its down to the spreadsheet ,if a managers bad its down to Conway.
I've seen one twitter rumour that the club hasn't used James,s data this season.Wheres the proof on this ?.
If Schopp was on the shortlist last season and the players we've signed are all under 25 and Oblare was a target in January that suggests to me the data way of recruiting is still very much in operation.

I was thinking this the other day. Doug whatshischops from the chron said that Conway had signed Obbi and Iseka, but offered nothing in the way of a quote or anything. I think it's all ******** to be honest, the data would have been an integral part of the ownership deal, I can't see it ever not being available to identify transfer targets.

How do you know they weren't Conway only targets last season maybe that's why they weren't employed last season because Conway wasn't in complete charge but for most of this summer he was so they get signed.

BFC Data Services was formed in 2018, after the current owners..."acquired" the club. It's not a stretch at all to expect a breakdown of relationship of the directors.

Doug o kane works closely with the club why would he make this up? Plus it was James cryne who had the spread sheet and worked with conway. If the 80% and 20% are in a legal battle there not going to sit around a laptop with a cup of tea looking at potential signings I could be wrong but I know who I belive.

Oblare himself said he turned us down in January because he wasn't in a good place.Val said at the time he had 2 options and he was happy with either,we ended up signing Dike.Dane said at the time of the dispute that it was in no way effecting the working relationship within the club.
I remember when young James was lambasted for his data driven method of finding players so much so his dad played down his involvement.
My post was no more than an observation nothing more nothing less.

But the data is the golden goose, the 20%ers would surely want to maximise their returns by using it, wouldn't they?

I might be completely underthinking this though!

It could well be that Conway has got umbrage and refused to use it and therefore not pay anything else to the Crynes through BFC Data Services. He has a very spoilt child side to him, quite dePfeffelesque in numerous ways. It could well be the parties have broken down irreparably and James Cryne just doesn't want to work with them.

It could be all tickety boo (though that would buck the trend beyond belief and there don't seem to be any such signals coming out that is the case).

Disputes among directors at a company is always messy, not always rational and generally not particularly conducive to short term success. That a legal court case is still pending would suggest things haven't improved any.

And how do you feel about the West Stand debacle and the £750k withdrawal of funds from BFC rather than from the consortiums acquisition vehicle? Granted, this will likely be ignored as it may take away from your daily schedule of treating our owners like deities, but I thought I'd give it a whirl.

Said when this first cropped up, we tried to sign Obbi last January, so either we wasn’t using it then or the spreadsheet did identify him, just that Conway completed the deal in the Summer.
Also people conviently forget Dike wasn’t a spreadsheet signing, or Sol for that matter.

The same Dane Murphy who implied we'd get Dike without a problem, that Ismael and Mowatt would stay, and then himself walked out of the door?

James cryne got stick on the way home from crawly after a 5-1 defeat a week after wilson was sacked and we were about 4 points from the league one relegation zone. The spreadsheet has brought us some great signings over the years. Conor, mawson, scowen, Watkins,Roberts, pinnock, potts I could go on and on.... I alway find your post very agenda based and very pro conway not sure if you mean this but thats how it always comes across.

Have we ever been told officially which signings were data driven and which weren't? Press speculation and rumours don't count.

I’m struggling to believe that the most important signing of all, the head coach, came as a result of data analysis to find an effective coach of a high press system like the previous appointments were.

You have to wonder with hindsight if his last few months were just about working his notice, knowing he won’t be culpable for such statements
