After losing 8 games on the spin against teams in the top 15. They've had a real bad run of games against top side teams haven't they? MM must be really unlucky to get the boot tonight

Big Mick is a legend to me as player & also as a manager with the Republic of Ireland. I saw him play his first game for Barnsley. TBH something has gone badly wrong there & with that run of results it was bound to happen. As much as it would be a shoe in I could not see him working with this board. He may just decide to do some pundit work & chill.

He’s presided over 1 goal in 8 games, conceding a lot, and has lost every one. Hence he’s been sacked.

Surely people should instead be raving about Schopps record of just 5 straight defeats!

And if we lose tomorrow and Schopp is likely given the boot, why would you want to replace him with someone who’s presided over an even worse run?

    Please don't bring him home
I want him to remain a legend or demi god along side Eric and norm.
This lot will make him look an imbecile
I know everyone want him but no.

He'll never come back under these owners. Don't blame him. Don't get your hopes up. It will never happen. Only time it might have was under John Dennis, but his stock was too high at that point. I really think he may either call it a day, or go and work for a chairman he gets on with, if they approach him.

Because Mick did well with them last season. Schopp hasn't demonstrated this ability yet and has no champ experience behind him.

At least two games too late.
The moment he lined up against West Brom at home (after 5 defeats on the spin) with 5, yes 5, centre backs, that was him done for me. 3 defensive midfielders as well btw. I’d love to ask him his mindset on that, never seen it in 50+ years watching and playing at a decent level.
Next game we played 442 against Reading, clearly he didn’t believe in his thinking, and we played very well - dominated in fact but still lost. I’m not a big believer in stats as I’d prefer to base my judgements on what I see - but 27 shots to 1 is a big indicator to me.
To then line up with the 5 centre backs against your main rivals is unforgivable.
There was great optimism under the stands pre-game but that quickly disappeared when the team was unveiled on our phones. A collective groan wa let out and the atmosphere changed completely - the Mick effect.
8 defeats in a row (club record in 122 years) and 6 home defeats in a row (again, club record) means there’s only one result.
MM is in the top three worst managers I’ve ever seen up (down) there with Alan Durban and Russel Osman.
I missed my first game, home or away, in over 3 years at Fulham on Wednesday. Bought a ticket but couldn’t face watching a MM side again.
He may well be a Barnsley legend and, no doubt, I’ll take some stick - but the guy is an arrogant, useless dinosaur and I’ll be surprised if he gets another job in football.

I disagree with your latter sentence. He is a hero to me, but you are entitled to say this. We are saying the same about our manager. A manager lives & dies on results. Maybe his time is up, these are different days, but MM is a legend to me. I applaud you posting & you won't get any stick from me, mainly as we need to finish above 3 teams & you may be one of those looking at the table.

    Peace.

Offer him the job until the end of the season with a nice bonus if he keeps us up, then have him oversee who we bring in for next season.

These owners couldn’t give a toss about helping us become competitive though, so it won’t happen.

Mick always has been and always will be a club legend for me, Jeff, old mate. I can't argue with any points you've raised, though. Would I take him as our new manager? You betcha! Will it happen? Absolutely not.

Honestly, you have to see his “football” to believe it.

Surely that is his decision? Maybe you are right? I'd agree football has moved on to a degree, but he has a superb record, both as a player & a manager. As a BFC fan I think he deserves a bit more respect. Chances of him taking over BFC are zero.

He was before my time to be honest, the only time I’ve seen him were against us and general interviews. I always thought the football he served up was dreadful.

Fair enough. I never said anything about his Cardiff days. We need to stay up, so I'm delighted with the run of form. He's still a legend.
