Kev, I wouldn’t wish him on anyone. Appreciate your (and everyone else’s) loyalty towards him but his best days are long gone. Just topping up his pension as far as I’m concerned, can’t see him in another managerial role tbh.
You could say that he's already inadvertently done his bit in helping us stay up. Well done agent Mick!
As I said, Jeff, he's a club legend for me. If we appointed him, I honestly believe we'd stop up and I think he's a far better, more experienced manager than our current incumbent. Others disagree, which is fair enough.
He played over 250 games for us before signing for Man City. From his first game onwards, playing next to Ian Evans he has probably the best centre back to play for us. De Zeeuw would run him close as a player TBH. In recent years he look at Ipswich, who went from playoff contenders to relegated after he left. Fair play if he's got sacked. Were you too young to see him managing Ireland?
Thank you, have always enjoyed coming on here - proper football board. Me & my mates have only today been saying how much we prefer League 1 lol
Corner count at half time was 0-8. You have to be pretty poor to allow that to happen. He's done little for a number of clubs in a row now. His management style is old fashioned and not for the modern game.
Director of Football with Disco as Head Coach? Yes I know I said not too long ago that neither of them would want the Manager's job but would this be a feasible option?
Perversely I think Mick would fit right in. He's coming towards end of his career with a board that couldn't give a fc uk what transpires on the pitch. Job for life.
It would be worth it for the emotion when he walks out for his first game. I'll take anything to cheer me up at the moment, however short term it might be.
This could also be called the Schopp effect. I approach each game with some optimism, which is usually destroyed about 60 minutes before kickoff, when I see the team sheet.
