Same guy who was part of a coaching team who took us to play offs last season. As for the latter, it happens all the time. What do you want him to do, sit there quietly and be bullied? Guy showed some passion, sticking up for a club mate, get off his back.

I'm quite interested in how he sets the team up against derby and any noticeable changes to our approach to the game from that of Schopps. COYR.

really not sure I get this view tbh. it's been mentioned quite a few times. on the pitch we lost Mowatt and dike. one wasn't our player, the other we were all resigned to losing for some time. who else have we lost, from the squad that reached the play offs last year?

Having an inquest as to what should have been said by whom and when is futile. Thanks Markus for your efforts it didn't work out for whatever reasons. Now we need to look forward to where we're going not backwards to where we've been. People venting their spleen and blackguarding the board, CEO and outgoing manager may temporarily make us feel justified but it doesn't move us on. As 'supporters' the Club and the team now need our support more than ever.

From the second game onwards there were games where we didn't have Mowatt, Dike, Morris, Madds, Solbauer, Benson, Iseka, Oulare, Cole, Jordan Williams and Chaplin if you compare it to last year. Gomes wasn't match fit and Kitching got a three match ban.

For a club our size to go in to a a consecutive run of games with 7/8 players missing from our Match Day squad is really tough and it showed. Our squad in many games this season has looked mid table League One in terms of having options off the bench to try and change a game.

*Edit - the reason I've included Mowatt and Dike is because their replacements were injured. So it shows how far the quality of the squad fell for about half a dozen games.

yeah I meant not at the club rather than unavailable for selection. agree injuries etc have played a huge part, but still our players. that's just bad luck (or judgment). I did forget to mention Solly and chaplin though.

What's the chances of this being a Danny Wilson/Viv Anderson situation, where we'd put the wrong man in charge to begin with, and got it right in the end?

These owners? You're easily appeased. Also what's with the other comment - 'fair play to the board' in another post?. The owners are dreadful - a disgrace. Wouldn't surprise me if Schopp had to pay them to leave!

On Schopp I wish him all the best. He has had to put up with weeks of personal abuse just because he's tried to do his job. The fact that he's not been up to it is irrelevant.
The appointment was just as toxic for Mr Schopp as it was for the fan base. Hope he has a good rest with his family and recharges his batteries. Best of luck squire.

I’d say slim, given Laumann has already been here a while, rather than arriving with Schopp. Though, it wouldn’t surprise me if Schopp’s assistant at his previous clubs would’ve been the brains behind the operation, happens a lot.

I have to say that I think the board gave him a bit too much time.

Didn't the loss of Andreas Winkler from Daniel Stendel's backroom team see a drop off in form/results/quality of football?
Sometimes you need two or three different parts or contrasting opinions to see the big picture.

At least three games too many. It was only going to end one way when we lost against Blackpool, Forest and Millwall. He’d run out of excuses by that point

TBF they have been busy sorting the traffic jam out on Grove St yesterday. Apparently 10K ST holders turned up to take him to the airport ;)

Where did I say 'Fair play to the board?'

I'm not sure posing the question/thought 'Maybe turning a new leaf' as an open thought is being appeased.

Sometimes things don't work out. Like this appointment. It's 4 weeks too late, but at least it's done now. Onwards to the next Head Coach

The fair play comment was a different poster. Apologies but I'm too thick to include two posts in my own reply. It was dub tyke as I remember. If you do think the owners have turned over a new leaf that's of course up to you. I cannot even contemplate the fact they can. If 'appeased' is the wrong word fair enough. Perhaps you are just forgiving and optimistic...?

Thank you for coming over here and giving it your best shot, Mr Schopp. There's not a single Reds fan who wouldn't have preferred you to have succeeded at Oakwell, but it wasn't to be. Such is life. Sometimes things go well, sometimes they don't. Personally, while I admit that I haven't agreed with your style, selections, etc., I don't believe you were dealt much of a hand here, and our owners certainly need to carry some share of the blame for our current league position. Best wishes for the future.

It's doable. Just can't believe we're in this much sh*t only 5 months after being in the playoffs for a place in the Premier League
