Average tenure of last 10 managers is 12 months. Might as well accept that the task now is to find a bloke who can keep us up. If we go down, he's sacked. If we do well and stay up comfortably, he'll leave for greener pastures.

I'd much prefer stability with someone coming in, keeping us up and at least hanging around for a couple of years.

Me too. But any new head coach is likely to have a buy out clause in their contract so as soon as they well and bigger clubs come sniffing around, it's more bunce for "the club".

Big Mick. Contract until end of season, with a bonus if he keeps us up. Simular to Warnock at Rotherham a few years back

Does any other club change their set up as often as we do?

Managerial changes are certainly pushed through more swiftly than in the past at most clubs, and as a result, coaching set ups will change too. But we rotate just about everything and are happy doing so.

It's like trying to build on quicksand.

I'd go with Ian Holloway. He's had no money at Blackpool and Grimsby. The new guy isn't going to get money to spend here either and will have to sell players. Holloway is used to having to deal with the 5hit end of the stick and getting on with it.

I wouldn't even use Ian Holloway as a toilet brush. Disgusting human being.

I suppose there might be some merit... you wouldn't get the bits of wet toilet paper sticking to him so readily. Maybe we've inadvertently found an actual use for Ian Holloway!

Guess we'll have to accept a short term option. So, someone with experience of Championship who's allowed to bring in an experience midfielder/leader to replace Mowatt. Alex Neil? He had four years here as a player and has six years managerial experience with Norwich and Preston. He might even stay around for a couple of years.

It'll be four years next month since this board took over the club. The next appointment will be the seventh permanent Head Coach they've had in that time (Heckingbottom, Morais, Stendal, Struber, Ismael, Schopp, new appointment).

I'm hoping they have a 75 % strike rate after the next one.

Signing a manager is like signing a young player, potential for profit.

We can't say there haven't been some highs as well as lows though.
3 of them left of their own volition to go to what they saw as more lucrative jobs.
I don't think we're out of line with Championship football in general.

I agree we have had some highs and lows. But it's still a lot of Head Coaches in a relatively short space of time. To me, that doesn't create stability, irrespective of what goes on at other clubs.
