For added entertainment value, if you follow the logic of his argument to a natural conclusion then he's also intimating that it's a good thing that they're in dispute with the Cryne's over this money as, otherwise, the football club would be £3.5m short of funds by now, not £750k (or however many of the installments would have fallen due by this time).

These kind of meetings are supposed to be positive events, giving an insight into the club, fans suggesting improvements, the club taking ideas on board and letting us know what we can look forward to.

Each time this guy opens his mouth I’m becoming more and more frustrated and disheartened.

Interesting....I asked about ten years ago if my dad who had heart issues could use the Corporate section lift to access east upper. Club refused saying he couldn't be evacuated in case of fire (he was actually ok going downhill). Went in West lower instead as no steps to climb. Don't know if that is still same policy. Equality act calls for reasonable adjustment to be made. Could include relocation, don't see how shutting a stand helps.

 

No idea how that's ended up in bold type. I'm not shouting, honest. Given this is a constant exercise in balancing the books, a fans consortium would do no worse. Very clear this lot aren't speculating to accumulate.

 

In a workplace if someone has issues with mobility evacuating you'd need a PEEP to be put in place. Same applies with football clubs, but the onus is on the individual to ask for one. Chelsea have a really good published policy.

Cheers mate, sounds like you have more knowledge of this than me. There are two central points I'd make though. The West lower might actually suit some people with disabilities but no one was asked. The second is people who it didn't would need relocating which is exactly what has happened anyway. The equality act doesn't wash with me as an argument to have closed it. Btw I'm waiting for knee surgery and the top of the east lower suits me an awful lot less than the top of the West lower did.

Are the stands adequately staffed with trained staff to undertake the responsibilities required?
Wonder how many other clubs promote PEEPS?

 

The people who go to these meetings to be fobbed off with unacceptable replies mustn't have anything better to do on a evening.

I think that's a bit harsh in the circumstances mate. I'm assuming you have read what they have kindly put (otherwise you wouldn't know they fobbed off) so you too were interested. New CEO and gave him the benefit of the doubt. At least we know where we stand now
