The racist abuse is absolutely horrifying and no one should be subjected to it in any way shape or form. I played at the same club as Azeem. Not same team, but same club. I know some very very very questionable things about him. The bloke is absolutely hateful. that’s all I’ll say about him.
Best racially abuse him them eh? I've played against Azeem a fair few times over the years - and he can be a nightmare on the field. In your face, a competitor and sometimes he does 'go too far'. I can't remember thinking to racially abuse him though. Edit: The 'Zimbo' in question also played at Barnsley CC - was he there when red wine was forced down Rafiq? Or is it just Barnsley CC themselves that can be held responsible for that beauty?
Never played against him, but seen him play many times. Tough pain in the backside competitor, mates have met him a number of times away from the cricket field. Said he was a focused young lad who wanted to be a top cricketer and make enough money to look after his family.
https://www.theguardian.com/sport/b...ly-racist-for-me-there-is-no-other-conclusion Good piece posted up an hour ago. Yorkshire not dealing with racism goes back decades. Lehmann was racist, didn't get punished and then was brought back to Headingley this summer.
Had to do a double take on, " According to the Yorkshire Post some senior figures at the club are disgruntled it has not taken a more hostile line against Rafiq." Absolutely damning.
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/s...ECB-following-Azeem-Rafiq-racism-scandal.html I wouldn't be surprised if Balance never plays for Yorkshire again.

daily mail was obscured from the link you posted. I just accidentally clicked on it and now feel dirty.
Hasn't Morris been playing locally for the likes of Cawthorne and Hoylandswaine the last couple of years? As you said, it doesn't make great reading.
So just a question. All those years when you had to be born in Yorkshire to play for Yorkshire. Was that being racist to the rest of the UK
I have never met him, and what he alleges sounds awful. However I know at least five people who know him / have played in teams with him and all without fail say he is no angel, and that he was definitely not averse to having a drink. I was fully on board with his side of events but there are enough people telling me stories to shed more than a bit of doubt.
