I think your forgetting that we've got a good group of players which given the right organisation and motivation will start winning games again which will only reflect well on Wilder.
https://www.s24su.com/forum/threads/wilder-to-dingles.88528/ Well that was a fun read. I don't think they would like their beloved hero in charge with us.
He fell out with the owners at his last club over transfer policies. No chance he'd ever get on board with how we run.
According to them we haven't been called "The Tykes" for years. Is that true? I still call us the Colliers, anyone else? If we aren't Tykes or Colliers, what are we?
If he wants to be a manager rather than a head coach, and have more control over transfers, he might be out of the game for a while.
That may very well be your view and my view, but I have seen zero evidence thus far that the owners think along these lines.
From my recollection of going in the 60s and 70s the Colliers had already died out as a nickname, the Tykes was never even a thing. I can only ever recall them being the Reds.
I can only go off the idea that they are here to make money somehow, and they're certainly not going to make it dropping into League One and losing all our players at a discount.
Wilder has a very good track record. I it is him it would be much better than I expected. At the very worst it would be someone I have heard of before. Given our situation we need a speedy appointment.
This with bells on. Ive argued for long enough on here about our owners long term plan (they dont have one). Short term profit is their motto and they way sell players is evidence of that. Wilder is way out of pay grade and thats what the suits will see first, second and third.....would love it but just not happening.
