Someone like Giddings will be ITK...With Wilder being such a big name in South Yorkshire sport, it's his job to know. But journos earn a lot of trust by keeping there mouths shut, as much righting storys. Now I may be way off.. but Giddings keeping stumm, to me says something is going on. Wilder is bookies favourite plus another journo has said the job is his for the taking. Whether what's going on ends in failure or success is another story. But all he'd have to say is something like.. reports linking blah-blah to blah-blah is wide of the mark.. which again is his job..
I echo this. If something wasn't going on gids and oxley are pretty staunch and dig and release information as soon as they are informed
or perhaps he's saying nothing because there's just nothing to say. if the wilder link has no credibility, why would he comment on it?
The only players u23 would put a lot off I think. I actually agree with not letting a manager just have free reign is a good thing.
It's just the fact they've not rubbished it.. is the elephant in the room. Now there's proberbly half a dozen reasons why Wilder wouldn't want the job.. and one big reason why Conway wouldn't want him, wages. If... and it's a big if, he's Conway's man and Wilder does have interest then who knows what can happen
There's no way the club rules anyone in or out within 48 hours of Schopp being sacked. We've never denied a managerial front runner before so soon in the recruitment process so I don't see why this would suddenly happen now? It's a nothing report based on the bookies list. I imagine that front runner will change half a dozen times between now and the eventual appointment.
Same point stands. And the local media would need to ask the club to comment to be able to give an answer, so again same point stands. Wasn't Darren Moore 9/4 ON last time at one point? We never even made a comment on him and that was days in to the process.
Someone like Giddings will be as thick as thieves with Chris Wilder after his years at Sheff U. With Micheal Morgan saying it's on. Do you not think Giddings would have picked the phone up and asked Wilder, if he didn't himself already know.. is there any truth in this morning's story.. ? How many times as Giddings in the past come out on twitter saying.. this is wide of the mark, that is wide of the mark.. A lot of the posters on here the other night posting about the finances.. that something's don't ring true .. Now I know sweet FA about finances so I kept out of it... But in the same way am sure Wilder would have by now been asked about any links to us. With no one saying a dickie bird dismissing it.. I find it strange, if Wilder would have still been out a 16s then fare enough why should they.. but he's clear favourite and a respected Yorkshire journo has said it's his.. no matter what some think of the Sun Micheal Morgan has been around here for years..
On managerial rumours within 48 hours of someone being sacked? I'd argue never. You're talking like this Michael Morgan has never reported on anything that's just a rumour. They've all got to fill column inches.
I only mentioned Morgan .. whether it's true or not, I don't know. Because some on here just dismissed it out of hand coz he was from the Sun. Which I though was silly really. I'am not saying I believe it or not. But still think it's funny that Wilder as not said, through local media that ... Sorry but the job is not for me.. When it's been reported, rightly or wrongly the the job is his
Maybe it's true, maybe it isn't, but I think you're overestimating the level of communication from the different parties involved. We've rarely heard from any potential managers, or existing, when they've been linked with our job or leaving our job. You rarely hear managers ruling themselves in or out - even Conte never officially said the Tottenham job wasn't for him and nor did he confirm the rumours of him being in London yesterday. I honestly don't think it works like that. Always keep your powder dry.
