Let's not forget how they handled their Tory chum guilty of sexual harassment only last week.

Don't also forget that Patterson has implied his wifes suicide was contributed to by this enquiry. I think that's a very low thing to say given the case is blatant and persistent.

I have an ever increasing loathing for this government and lets not be surprised that this case leads to a changing of the process, the rules and the arbiters. All in the name of justice, that just happens to give benefit to those who break the rules most from within the tory ranks.

I suspect the reasoning for this move is to prevent the right of recall and a possible by-election (though he did have a majority of nearly 23,000).

Watched The Politics Program on the BBC today and low and behold that far-right MP for Penistone and Stocksbridge Mirian Cotes was on defending Patterson saying he was harshly dealt with and would be voting for the amendment.
The Penistone constituency includes Penistone, Dodworth, Silkstone, Silkstone Common, Parts of Worsborough and meany more little villages in our part of the world, if any of you voted for this let the sewer flow into our rivers MP. want to hang their heads in shame as we now are becoming the laughing stock of the world.

 

Jolyon Maugham and his fellow QCs are doing a great job, I agree. Good to see they made progress to make the govt publish the VIP lane beneficiaries who went on to be given contracts.

And Randox have certainly benefitted. I recall a documentary earlier in the pandemic that showed the inner workings and how much of a shambles it was when it came to covid testing.

I genuinely don't understand where anybody can find a position to speak for and agree with this government in the way it conducts its business.

 

It seems its a done deal. The tories, well, the givernment actually have instructed the vote to be whipped, so once the speaker selected the amendment, Paterson is now in a position to be given an appeal, with a different committee, and hope a different result is given.

Due to those foreign workers going back to their own country, British pork producers are set to begin sending pigs to the Netherlands for butchering and packing. Meat exported in this way cannot to be labelled as British pork for UK sale.

I don't know if others noticed this, but there was research done into the 2019 GE results and it found 25 seats were likely saved from changing from Labour to Tory because of the Brexit Party contesting the seat.

It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if all of the constituencies within the Barnsley Borough turn blue at the next time of a GE.
