Fitness levels

Fc3k knows why but bazza just refuses to accept that we were knackered. I reckon he's the fitness coach and trying to justify his job

 

He said in his interview yesterday that he’s fully fit. Match fitness is another thing entirely though.

 

Only blip for me was the timing of the Styles/ Williams sub. Styles was having a bit of joy going forward. I think had Laumann waited a few more minutes and possibly gone 3-1 it could have been cruise control.

Don't know why I bother .
We just won first in over 15 games.
Was trying to remain upbeat.
However we're not fir enough.

I said after about 20 minutes how noticeable it was that we were playing with more intensity than we had done all season, the pace & work rate were far in front of previous games, as the game went on this caught up on them plus when defending a lead it is not unusual for a team to drop deeper & deeper but we managed to get over the line thank goodness.

 

Styles had an hamstring pull.

Whether we're fitter than them or not, it's clear to see that we're simply not fit enough. I think we sat so deep in the last 20 because we didn't have the energy to force the issue any more.

 

It was always a concern when we did not have the benefit of the 5 substitutes this season.

 

They're OAPs though!

 

Don't forget last season as well as 5 subs we played most of the football in the final 3rd too.

 

Big work to do. I would usually be for giving players extra days off to relax during a international break. This time though they need heavy training sessions because very few lads are capable of keeping the intensity up for ninety minutes.

We cannot keep holding on like we were tonight.

 

I don't agree at all, possibly with the exception of Benson who'd put a good shift in.

 

Been confident all along that we’d be fine once we got Anderson, Benson & Morris back & got Leya Iseka, Gomes & Oulare up to speed regardless of who was in charge.

We’re now at the stage where we’re able to put out a team with about 8 or 9 championship quality players in it where as it’s been 5 or 6 most weeks.

 

Well done. May I suggest we need a new one with the number of injuries we've had.

That’s exactly how I saw it (because that is what happened).

 

The old heads in the Derby team used their experience on more than one occasion...hence at times our young lads were outwitted and looked out paced

Thought Derby played well and deserved at least a point....but we'll played the lads good 3pts under the belt
You could see a big difference from Schopps pathetic excuse for football...
Enjoyed the game immensely.

 

It was noticeable when Gomez went off (im hoping that he wasnt injured but jiggered) that understandably we wernt as comfy in midfield.
Get him and Benson fully match fit (and the rest) and we will see more results like tonight. The agression was great to see from the get go and yea we looked all out last 20.
