A good performance but its interesting that some of them have now decided they want to play bless em! They may not have liked Schopp but that didn't excuse the lack of effort from some.
It wasn't that much better. Largely because we weren't that much worse before. The difference between Bristol on Saturday and tonight was an unexpected goal from Vic, and the width of the crossbar at our end at the end. Different result. Largely the same performance.
Totally different mood though but I do agree that it's very fine lines between winning and losing when you've got good players like we have
I thought we moved the ball a lot quicker, and pressed a little better. Those modest changes made a significant difference
can’t agree, there was a lot more intensity, players looked more comfortable. It was never going to be easy because of our position in the league and our losing run. If we can just win a few I think a bit of confidence will make a lot more difference.
Brittain was much better. Styles too. The defence didn't push up so much so we didn't have the pantomime of who might beat the offside trap. Woodrow was even worse than usual tonight though. Vic has been pretty good, if not threatening, recently , and he did the same. Benson is a plus. Moon did look more comfortable at the back. It was a bit like Bristol in reverse - this time we conceded first, then scored twice and then there was the same Alamo type finish from the losing side.
Derby almost scored and we couldn’t keep possession for more than a few seconds. We were under siege - how could you not notice?
He got us started, before our first corner we looked like we didn't want the ball. Impressive for me tonight.
I agree we looked a bit desperate by the end but other than the bar/line chance Collins had very little to do. Maybe focus on the positives?
I don't think it was that much better. We won't find many teams this season as awful as WRDCFC were and they still stopped us having a clean sheet and had us holding on. Not sure why we sat back when on top like we were playing a front two of Messi and Ronaldo. Derby had old man Jags in defence in his tight fitted shirt showing the timber he's put on since joining the rest of the old men at the Derby retirement home. Great to finally win and a weight has been lifted, but much improvement still needed at the weekend.
