Exactly this, they've nicely gone about their business stopping parliamentary investigations and blocking unfavourable rulings. The could worry about criminal sanctions. Wait a minute why would a useless Met Commissioner still be in place after so many scandals? By the way Prince Sweaty loves ar Cressida.
These cuπts aren't hanging round....talk about doubling down! I'm sure it's unhealthy to hate those fu¢kers as much as I do... https://www.theguardian.com/politic...teng-owen-paterson?CMP=Share_AndroidApp_Other
As predictions go, this wasn't far off https://www.theguardian.com/politic...over-anti-sleaze-regime-for-mps-owen-paterson
"It's not my job to judge him" ....................... says JRM ??? WTAF - he's leader of the house!!!!
Can't argue with what you say but I just get the feeling that we're at the bottom of the through (pun intended) and the only way is up. I'm generally an optimistic type.
No chance. They'll keep testing the limits and plumbing new depths until there are actual consequences. Having to make the occasional u turn won't stop the process.
Or ‘Get corruption done’ or ‘Sleaze Sleaze Sleaze’ or even better to use Johnson’s recent climate change football analogy ‘Honesty and decency was winning, but we’ve turned the game right around’
I think the trough is deeper than we'd ever believe. We'll see if this u-turn registers with with dePfeffelites, they've accepted every disgusting thing he's done so far. But I still think, until people start to feel pain, they'll keep voting for the idiot and believe his dishonesty words because they suit.
When people do inevitably start to feel the pain (if they haven't already) it will just be blamed on imaginary external factors and in no way linked to the Level 100 shitfuckery that this government engages in. ...and still the gullible lap it up in the name of some perverted version of patriotism.
They might blame it on other things, but generally, pain is a bigger influencing and motivating factor in decision making. If someone loses their job, house, if middle incomes are squeezed and if those who aren't used to poverty suddenly start to feel it, they will suddenly look at promises and see their emptiness. Of course there will be the usual media efforts to blue the truth and apportion blame elsewhere, labour or migrants generally, but if people are struggling and suffering and the murk starts to build about the tories and how theyve benefitted, their is a chance things could turn. I don't think it will be enough for a good while yet, and the tories are very good at shapeshifting and fitting up the last person while lauding (or lording) them. I don't think Johnson will last much longer. He's served his purpose for his handlers. Regime change is likely next year I suspect.
I agree regarding Johnson having served his purpose, the true powers will already be well on the way with installing their next mouthpiece.
Owen Paterson resigned but says "he'll still be a public servant, but outside the cruel world of politics" Or in other words, he can't stand the humiliation of being found guilty, suspended and then losing his seat.
Lord Evans, a crossbench peer and former director general of the Security Service, said on Thursday that the vote in parliament to replace the system of scrutiny with a new committee led by a Tory MP and with a Tory majority was an “extraordinary proposal … deeply at odds with the best traditions of British democracy” Lord Evans also accused the government of failing to uphold the principles of public life, that include the requirement for ministers and MPs to show leadership in upholding ethical standards in public life. “I find it hard to see how yesterday’s actions in any way meet that test. We could slip into being a corrupt country and that’s why we need to be vigilant around these issues.” The hard-of-thinking have to try to understand that the British way of life they claim to love so much, is now under threat from a totalitarian dictatorship. As in the past, when dictators have threatened us, we have to pull together, form and vote for a coalition of parties - imperfect though it may be - to bring down this dictatorship and restore democracy. Just my opinion like.
