I'd forgotten what that particular feeling was like! :D
Due to illness, I couldn't attend the game in person, so I had the 'pleasure' of watching the match laid on the settee.
For me, it was a much more disciplined performance from the lads. Everyone gave their all. Not everything came off, but I can't believe anyone would be daft enough to expect that, after our terrible run. To bounce back after going behind can't be underestimated, either. We almost took it for granted last season. This campaign, heads have tended to drop after conceding, so it was wonderful to see our reaction last night. A great deal of credit for this, though, must go to the Barnsley fans. They got behind the team in such a positive manner when the team went one down. In fact, they would be my choice as MOTM were it allowed.
I was really pleased for Victor when he scored, with the fans again showing their class by showing their appreciation of his efforts when being substituted. He'd given his all, had scored and run himself into the ground. The crowd realised this. Another player who has come in for criticism this campaign is Callum Brittain. I thought the lad gave his best performance of the season last night, capped off with a superb free kick delivery to Iseka who, in turn, finished with aplomb. This young striker is definitely an eye catching addition to the squad.
Sorry for the length of the tome. I'm not claiming we're out of the woods, nor that there isn't a great deal of work still to be done. But if you can't enjoy a victory after so long without one, that's not my problem. :D

BigLil - maybe laid out on the settee is your best position!

I won't be there Saturday, so I may be a jinx on the team, especially if we win again! :D

Totally agree with this. I think the key change was getting our wide players forward & being more solid in the middle & taking our chances for once as well. It was never going to be a massive turnaround from the last two games, but as you said. WE WON!

A definite improvement and a bit of luck too which we’ve not had rest of season . Nice to get another win on the board and we looked more solid and threatening going forward too

That’s not good! Last night must have helped you feel a bit better I’m sure. A bit of positivity and more optimism on here (as long as you don’t read Minority Report) lifts your spirits.

If wallowing in self pity was an Olympic event, I'd definitely be a gold medal contender! :D

Bye the way .....I reckon I played my part in last night's win...
I changed the formation of the mugs in the cupboard lol...wife goes mad on match days ...she's not allowed to use a mug out of the cupboard until full time....its that bad she's been and bought herself a China cup which now sits on the top of the coffee machine...
You've got to safe guard your win chances...lol

I've had Covid for a second time. Only resurfacing today pretty much. Managed to watch the game on iFollow last night. I've done a lot of wallowing. I've started posting now, so that is either a blessing or a curse. Trying to either get some of Aesop's Fables into a post, (tortoise & the hare is too f-ing obvious), or something by Black Francis or Frankie Valli. I think I need to go back to bed.

    EDIT.

    How about this.

PS this is dedicated to Mark Ellis RIP. Gone, but not forgotten.

Coronavirus twice? That's properly harsh. Just out of interest, have you noticed a difference between your symptoms this time around from the first time?

Yes, first time not at all like a cold. Fever & the shits. Second time like a bad cold / 'flu. Both came with a bad headache, the only connection.
