What you going to do? Morons. Be moaning tomorrow, where have all the birds gone? why is my new puppy hiding in the corner? lovely people. Apologies for my language..
It isn't great when you've got an excitable toddler you've just put to bed and want a bit of me time watching footie either mate.
4 greyhound tracks racing tonight too, shame on them ,2 in our area Sheffield and Doncaster, could they not just leave it for one night
When I lived in Highgate. Posh road. Neighbours would have Gardens in leaf blowers. Then wonder why the wild birds stay away?
I'll confess to having my Victor Meldrew moment but the excitable kid is me. I've been watching em' for free through window .
Love the little kiddies all excited in their bobble hats and scarfs. They've been non stop since about 5pm tonight.
It's the colours. I turn the lights off and let the flashes light up the room. The fireworks are a lot more vibrant and powerful than my childhood. Exhibition style.
I once had a dog who was so scared of fireworks that she ran inside a wardrobe, and pïssed herself. Nothing I could do to console her. A solid, loud animal, who would definitely talk to you about her feelings, and share her opinion about whether breakfast was arriving quickly enough for her liking. Reduced to a trembling wreck, in a wardrobe. I've had a lifetime of terrified cats. Wide-eyed with fear, and me at a loss what to do. Fireworks should be banned for private use. Animal lives matter.
Surely, as a compromise, they ought to do fireworks without the ‘bang’. People enjoy WATCHING the fireworks, but nobody (particularly dogs, cats, young kids) enjoy LISTENING to fireworks. Might patent this. Broddle’s Silent Firework Co (2021) Ltd.
Round my area hasn't seemed as bad this year for the 2 weeks leading upto tonight. I have 2 autistic children who hate the noise so it's not a fun one for us. I can cope with the one night or the one night and whatever weekend falls closest when it's midweek. It's the endless letting off for weeks. New year has actually been a bigger pain in the past for us. The previous neighbours once let off a huge repeater at midnight right under his window. My eldest was inconsolable and had to sleep with his mum for week.
