    Apparently at 28 he’s too old. A lady sat in front of me at the match today said she saw him in the club shop in midweek and started chatting to him, she said he seemed sad and told her that he’d been informed by the club that he can go. He was buying a batch of shirts to get signed by his team mates. He loves the club and where he lives in Sheffield. He’s hoping that he can get a nearby club.

    If that’s true then it’s disgusting,apparently he was signing autographs at half time on Wednesday and walked all the way to Ponty and back,must have cheered up a bit by then

    I think he's crap but if this story is true. It doesn't excuse his poor treatment by the club.

    I have no reason to doubt this Lady as she very rarely says anything, so for her to turn around to me at half-time and tell me that, I believe her.

    In 2001 before the Wimbledon game I met Dean Gorre in the ticket office. He was buying match tickets. I asked him why he wasn't playing he smiled and told me Steve Parkin didn't rate him.

    Who said anything about queuing before kick off or indeed, a match day, she just said she saw him in the club shop in midweek. Also, I have seen players buying merchandise in the club shop.
