I am sure all the above are valid points to address. However, the key point is that we go to Oakwell to watch our team play football. If that part of the he experience was better then perhaps some of these issues would seem a little less important.
The bridge is much wider than normals specifically for football fans. It was a big part of the planning so it should be open when it's eventually built
Ah that's a poatice sign at least so by the 2035 season all should be well. Seriously when are they currently projecting they will start construction?
It’s ****. If you park in Hoyle mill you’ve got to walk an extra half mile out of your way across a barely lit car park with a load of drivers also trying to get out of the same exits or you’ve to take your chances walking down muddy paths in the dark using your phone light to try & avoid decking it. The alternative is to park in the club car park adding extra cost to your day & then spend potentially 30 minutes plus trying to get out. Can’t get a drink at half time either unless you miss the action. Several times we’ve gone straight from our seats to the queue as soon as the whistle goes & can’t get a cuppa within 15 minutes. I can sit & watch every match at home for free if I want but I go out of loyalty. It’s becoming a chore going. It’s seriously ****** me off how unfit they are. Ritchie’s team that were out on the piss after every home game were miles fitter than this lot. I can cope with mistakes & players just not been good enough but I at least expect them to be as fit as other teams in the same league.
Seeing as one of the reasons stated for closing the west stand was fans being stood congregating at the top (only during rain as it happens) I wonder if the away stand will be closed - hull fans stood all across the top, across the gangways yesterday, 4 stewards went up to presumably move them but gave up after about 5 minutes.
the matchday experience is non-existent. it's starting to feel like it's being deliberately devalued. almost like a concerted effort to build a case for moving.
That's exactly what I think it is. They're making it as horrible as possible and as hard as possible to attend so that when they announce we are moving they'll get a lot of apologist arse lickers saying 'but theyre doing the right thing, look how bad it is now'
If the owners ambitions don’t align with mine then I would find it foolish to give them any more money. These “I will support my club through thick and thin” supporters are going to look like chumps when the owners relieve you of your money then piss in your pocket.
What a depressing thread but absolutely on the button. Yesterday’s ‘experience’ was the worst yet. It took me 1 hour 20’ to drive the 90 miles from the Dales to Cudeth - fine, no problem. Then 1 hour 10 to drive the 4 miles from Cudeth to the ground. The traffic queue was from what was Cudeth Bridge!! So I thought I’d go through Monk Breton and up Wakey Rd. What an error that was!! What a joy to see so many roads closed around the ground enabling me to spend more time in the car. Finally got parked up ‘Riding for the Disabled’. And got in 15 mins late. I’m told I missed the ‘best bits’. **** me Betty. There must be more to life than this.
All done deliberately to make the experience worse but all excused under 'health and safety' despite other clubs not having to do it
For me the so called match day experience was in rapid decline long before the current owners took over, it was becoming more and more of a chore than anything until I eventually realised my money and time could be spent doing other things about 5 season ago, many of the issues being raised currently were there back then, like poor catering, etc and the grounds had little or nothing spent on it since John Dennis's time in charge.so for all the moaning and groaning the choice is easy, walk away and find something else to do on a Saturday afternoon, believe me there's plenty and this from someone who lived and breathed the club for over 35 years.
They moved heaven and earth to get fans out of the West Stand and re seated in other areas of the ground, shame they aren`t doing the same to get them rehoused back in the West Stand. STUNC.
