I get what you're saying. It makes sense if it's a close season appointment with time for him to get it right. Warnock is the firefighter though. He'd keep us up.
I totally agree in this set of circumstances that Warnock has the best chance to keep us up of known managers/coaches. He won't be the cheap option, but if he saves the club £6 million then he will have been very cheap!
On Zoom, or MS Teams, or somat like that. It’s abart time little old Barnsley invested in technology it’d save a fortune in actually having to be at the match. And they could buy a little drone anall for post match debrief.
Perversely it's probably the board's lack of faith in the players and seeing Fulham are our next opponents being the reason they think they might take another week. I hope Swansea are ready for an onslaught they won't know what's hit em'.
I don't think they're thinking like that. More like the primary candidate is still in employment and it's taking time to sort out.
Hopefully with an eye on promotion from League 1 and a positive recruitment plan. This squad is weak as piss mate.
Conway and co have repeatedly said that all money received from transfers, players or managers, would be reinvested in to the club. Numerous times and not just about Barnsley - for their other teams too. That doesn’t mean we spend what we receive in sales. But it does mean, if the model works, that we reinvest in to a better calibre of potential each time to grow. Naturally, some funds go towards us being self sufficient and getting back to ‘zero’ on the P&L. What it definitely doesn’t mean is that we use £750k to fund a debt the owners owe from buying the club.
There could be the irony of Marcus getting a new job before we make an appointment as he's being touted for the Rapid Vienna job
I agree. There will be an appointment and at some point it will be announced. You all heard it here first!
