The squad that just finished 5th last season and had a shot at the PL? Minus 2 players DK and Mowatt. The problems were elsewhere mate.
Just to add.. Ok .. only stays one season anywhere (anyone's guess why). So might be sumert in it. But my hopes have been raised slightly cos he prefers a 4-4-2..
Sollbauer and Matty James played a big part along with Chaplin. Kane also played a small role along with Anderson and Morris also Missing injured. Don’t underestimate how much the 5 sub rule helped us last season as well, I said this last season, we could only press like that using 5 subs every game!
Matty James didn't play a game from 1 January and Solly was a substitute most of the time from end of January onwards. This was the time when we won most of our games broke nearly every BFC record going. Therefore I stick to what I said originally that it's the same bar DK and Mowatt
Solly would have made a massive difference this season. Not just playing, but his leadership around the place. We’ve lacked that.
I agree on the players contributions you mentioned, and I also believe the change in the subs rule has had a bigger impact than was expected.
I agree. It was a big mistake letting Solly go. I know he missed his family and he wanted to go but still.... we'd have definitely been a better team with him
Benson has been a massive disappointment. He was our supposed top summer signing. Came with a good pedigree and a reputation as a dead ball expert. His corners and free kicks have been abysmal and while he does look to have a good pass in him he’s got the heart of a pea when it comes to a battle. Looks like he’s a typical Prem u23 player with very little experience of men’s football. Which basically is what he is….
