Not forgetting our suits will be bursting a gut to sell players in january..to make us (ahem) succesful......so whoever we get will have their work cut out.
The principals the same though Helen,do well and you move on to better things,do bad you get the sack. Its the same at every club not inclusive to Barnsley.
I suspect that's just a case of the messaging from the club being to try and quieten things down until an announcement (which would be unlikely to happen until Wednesday if it is this guy). Think they did the same with the Benson signing.
Then we need to finish mid table playing a nondescript brand of football. This manager has gone because we were shocking, the last manager went because he performed miracles and Struber went because he also achieved a great escape.
The new guy has a freebie here. It will be hard to undo the mess created by Conway and Schopp. His remit has to be keep us up if you can but no pressure if unsuccessful.
It works both ways though. If Robins get Coventry to a play off final this year people will look at his record and say that his Championship record is a number of mediocre seasons and then one good one. When a young up and coming manager who is successful abroad comes here and has a whirlwind season and either - pulls off a great escape, or takes an unfashionable club to the play offs punching way above their weight, their stock is unbelievably high and because of our reputation to identify by data, lazy better funded clubs come and pinch them. Neither NY Red Bulls or West Brom fans are particularly happy with the appointments now.
In fairness, Luton already lost Jones, once. He only ended up back there because he fell off a cliff at Stoke.
From some Swedish guy Twitter: Very possesion based manager that has done great in some seasons and bad in some. Quite up and down but very possesion based, that’s my view of him at least
3 nothing-clubs... much like us. They'll (we'll) all be yo-yoing between L1 and the Champ for decades. Having a manager for longer than a season makes zero difference.
Absolute opposite of Valerian then. Who had us deliberately kicking it into the stands at one point. I'm not sure anyone knows what Schopp's strategy was. Anyway, it didn't work, although he was compromised to a certain extent by "events". A new VPB (Very Possession Based) approach will inevitably end up with us relegated. See if you can find us at evens and lump your dosh on.
Sweeper?! It’s been a while since I’ve seen one of those! But in all seriousness, you’re right. The tweets are a bit contradictory with regards to formations. I’m guessing whoever will be in charge will probably stick with the same formation. Hopefully they’ll play the strongest players in their strongest positions though.
