Yeah I shrug it off. It's all my fault. My vote made all the difference even though the Wingfield constituency remained Labour.
Lol as I said I just don't get the passive aggressive anti-Tory posts, when everyone seems to be in agreement. I mean, I hate them, but I don't need to tell the BBS how sh*t they are - and seemingly point the finger - because surely we all already know, and nobody on here (except your good self) voted for them?
I voted Lib Dem in 2010 too. Labour won that seat (Pontefract) That's twice I've voted and twice it hasn't made a 5hit of difference. It's a stick for people to beat me with.
It should never have been started in the first place. As others have said, getting to London from Yorkshire is fairly straightforward, modernising the infrastructure across the North should have been the priority, but we won't even get that now... maybe Leeds Station might get a Nandos or Manchester Piccadilly might get some new benches. The whole Northern Powerhouse ******** was just another tory lies grenade designed to blow a hole in the already buckling red wall.
Same mate. Never won owt haha. Voted Lib Dems 2005(?), then labour ever since. And voted to stay in EU. I should start placing bets on whoever and whatever I vote for to lose I also don't get the (largely) older generation's reluctance to say who they voted for?? Maybe it's a generational thing, I don't think I'll ever feel the need to not disclose who I voted for. People say you shouldn't talk about politics, sex and religion, but there's not much else is there (besides footy, boxing and music )
You work for the NHS and you voted Tory? Fair dos. Could maybe understand if you would benefit in some way.
Taking all the expresses off three (3!) main lines, for one. But the information has been out there for more than ten years and nobody's paid attention so far, so good luck in with the wait - I genuinely hope that there is a scheme to do what you want without HS2 hanging around somewhere waiting for the dust to be blown off it!
We just want reliable, faster coast to coast trains across the North - be able to link likes of Leeds, Manchester , Liverpool together as promised. Everything just watered down like the Northern Powerhouse
IMHO Should never have even been a thing to start with, stupid money that has been a blight on too many peoples lives. They could have put a smaller amount to one side and improved existing services ands maybe opened up some disused lines to improve local services, rather than a phenomenal amount of money to save somebody having to catch an earlier train.
I'd rather have hot nails drilled through my hands than vote Tory Monster gangster cabal, looting and profiteering in plain sight. Blatant 'In your face' corruption and gloating from the never ending gravy train they're permanently riding! Johnson's government is utterly vile in every single respect. Not a single redeeming feature UKIP on steroids. A gaggle of greed and cronyism. Bigoted , patronising and full of some of the biggest liars ever to pollute the 'House of Commons' I'd never lower myself to call Johnson "Boris" because he's not my mate, nor is he the mate of anyone on here and there's no way I'm going to sign up to his carefully crafted fake persona. He's more of a malignant narcissist and an absolute traitor to his country. They've trashed our freedoms and democracy and govern totally for themselves and what they can gain from the prolific troughs they've all got their snouts in. History will show them for the evil that they are and I'm sorry I won't be around to see it.
I thought self-preservation if nothing else would make the tories deliver on the northern powerhouse. Labour had taken the north for granted and the tories ignored it. Now its the biggest concentration of marginal seats and that should be a good thing. Many people on here think this lot of tories are evil personified. They aren't necessarily, they are just incompetent by and large. They have just signed their own death warrant at the next election
If a ticket machine is available at the station you get on you have to either buy a ticket from it on card or print off the promise to pay option. Before platforms had ticket machines you could just queue for your train, get on and pay on the train. Now if you want to pay with cash to not use the ticket machine you have to hand them a promise to pay.
