So that's 8% of the total professional managers in English men's football. they make up approx 25% of players in English pro football.

Yes, I sort of knew that was a bad analogy but the gist was that it comes down to a he said/she said thing which, without context leaves far too much of a grey area.
My point is that if Vaughan made the comment as club captain, not on particularly close terms with the asian lads in the group then you would draw a fairly strong conclusion that it was a racist comment and that he's a t**t to boot.
If it was made among a tight knit group of lads who had a strong camaraderie and an acceptance of insults as jokiness(which a hell of a lot of male dressing rooms do) then it could be seen as something else.
I'd want a lot more corroboration from other sources and comments before calling someone a racist. It seems those are starting to appear where Vaughan is concerned.
My worry, and I'm as guilty as anyone on here, is that it's too easy to throw the racist accusation around without full context and also to dismiss those who might have some reservations about certain situations as racists too.

I mean he's tweeted stuff about needing to learn a new language to go to London and how Moeen Ali has a duty to go round asking other Muslims if they're terrorists in his spare time.

No one is daft enough to not understand context.

But it’s a million miles away from what’s been happening.

    Which leads to the question:
If you agree that what’s actually happened at Yorkshire is not acceptable, what’s the point in trying to equate it with something completely different that is acceptable.

Bluntly, why bring up your irrelevant story, as it just comes across as a defence of the indefensible.

Despite the fact only 3.3% of the general population are black.

Quotas/Targets are a horrible way to run things. Top African players will come over to play on Premiership and Championship wages, they might not be as keen to stay and manage Morecambe or Crewe, that's not racism and we shouldn't blind ourselves with numbers.

    This is incredible to watch.

Edit: Mention for Barnsley CC now and the "lucky lucky man" incident.

Like I said. There seems to be stuff coming out that weighs heavily against Vaughan.
Vaughan isn't the only one caught up in all this though.

Pinned down at 15 to have red wine poured down his throat. He said a played who played for Yorkshire and Hampshire was involved. I can only think of Michael Lumb, especially from the Rafiq time period and age group.
