One of the questions I particularly wanted answering was why he went back to Yorkshire for a second spell. I'm not listening to it and relying on interpretation of his answers in a live text feed. Has he really said words to the effect that he knew something wasnt right in his first spell but wasn’t sure what it was!
He said it was a mix of being in denial as to the issues and that Derbyshire didn't offer him a contract and he needed to put food on the table.
Roger Hutton's testimony already fairly explosive regarding Mark Arthur and Martyn Moxon's actions as executive directors, including a request from Arthur for the investigation to be abandoned mid-process.
Was Hutton getting paid in his role as Chairman? Was it a full time position? He seems to have done and known very little about anything. At best he just comes across as incompetent.
Wow, watching it on a slight delay as I keep having to pause it for telephone calls, etc. Hutton wanted to remove Arthur, Moxon and the Head of HR, but couldn't do so without the consent of the Colin Graves Trust, who were supportive of them and blocked the request.
He's answered pretty much everything with an assortment of .......I didn't know, before my time, I wanted to but couldn't. If he was that hand tied why didn't he walk months ago. Just seems to have bumbled through everything with his eyes tightly shut.
I agree with that. I'd ask him one question: "What were you actually specifically doing during your time there??
But yet it is ok the other way round when rafiq was calling ballance Z------. What is good for the goose is good for the gander
Are you trying to troll or just being a bit stupid? It is the equivalent of calling someone an Aussie. There are no racist connotations whatsoever to it.
So what you're saying is he should just take constant racial abuse from everyone and meekly and politely accept it all?
Rubbish. It’s not the same the P word is a known term of racial abuse. What is clear is that they have brought the club, the game and the county into disrepute. I took my grandson to cricket practice and games in Suffolk and was always proud of my Yorkshire cricketing heritage. I don’t feel very proud today. This is painful for us all, but this swamp needs to be drained before we can move on.
I know you're trolling, well that or ignorant, so I'll give u the benefit of doubt. You needn't blank it out. You see, the difference is zimbo is not a racial slur, it is someone from Zimbabwe, akin to Brit, Scot, Italian, do u view those as offensive? P*** is a racial slur, you can argue that it isn't in your opinion, but that doesn't change the fact that it is. So it's not the same.
Why are people desperately clinging to the fact that Rafiq said something he shouldn't have and was a bit of an arse, just to downplay systemic racism in what started as a whole county cricket club and is now branching out into a whole sport. If you want to say that if someone calls you a racist name, you will feel free to call them one back, please just say so.
