The Yorkshire Bank was there first; built on the corner of New Street / Sheffield Road in the late 70's I think. A time when urban architects were all off their heads on LSD.
If I'm not good enough to walk through it on match days, I'm not good enough to shop in it.! Seriously, I drive past Barnsley a couple of times a week and don't go in to shop. Why? Parking. It's not the cost of it. I really can't be bothered scratching for change/using an app that hardly works etc and then worrying that if I'm 10 minutes late I'll get a £50 fine or whatever. If the council were serious they'd make two hours free
Love looking at old photos like that. When Elon Musk masters time travel as his next hobby, it would be great to revisit these times.
