I ask you, what does it matter if some crackpot with gun or terrorist with a bomb gets in to Oakwell and wipes a few folk out now again, just as long as we can keep taking us bags in?
I'm guessing the odds are negligible but given that the country is on high alert then the rules will be stuck to.As I said, bags were nt allowed into Anfield on Saturday either. Be interesting to see if it stops flares getting onto grounds.
If it doesnt there is something very wrong with our security screening or did you mean '70s style bell bottoms
Whilst I sympathise with the OP. Those that have to take responsibility on safety will always go the full distance, For fear of reprisals. (Cos of recent incidents The threat has been raised to severe.) Maybe something should be done to facilitate entry to those who find it necessary to carry larger items. And store in lockers until after the game, after being checked. That is. Its allus amazes me how many times I've been searched at away games. (and it's a token gesture) Yet not once at Oakwell. I don't know if they do any checks at the ponty. But never have I seen em at the east stand. Attacks must only have been believed to possibly occur in away ends. The mind boggles. What's the size of flares btw. They seem to get past security quite easily.
You haven’t been able to take a bag into England games, Spurs, Anfield, etc. for years. I’m surprised it’s taken this long for it to filter down the divisions to be honest. It’s a massive inconvenience that’s for sure and not disputing that. I’ll be interested to see what the club do in terms of a ‘locker’ system for those who do take a bag and don’t know about the rules. Some money to be made by local shops as ‘bag drop’ points. Can’t remember the website but I’ve used it to leave my bag in places a few times.
I don't think I've ever walked into Wembley without hearing one weary cry of "I'll catch you up" as we get to the stewards.
Wife always takes a rucksack with blanket and bits in. Not told her the new rule, be glad of not having to respond to stupid questions throughout the game!
Pub in fulham high st. Would only accept cashless. As much as I hate the thought and like to use both methods, a lot has been made of the covid issue and chances of less contact, direct or indirect. I do remember btw. Many moons ago, one of the turnstile operators wouldn't respond to calls on the tannoy during the game. He had a very good time in Blackpool apparently on the proceeds.
Ok mate thanks. I'd heard you'd caught the damn thing. Maria is taking more time to recover. How is Mo.
