It`s a bloody shame that what your PM/Government tells you, you now have to question and wonder what the real reasoning is behind their statements, this does lead to some extreme thoughts by people but then in my lifetime the bullshitometer has gone through the roof into a new stratosphere.

While ever there is divide and rule and folk hanging on their every word, nothing will change it aint that long ago most politicians were seen as thieving scum, but yet again we are all back in party lines playing their game for them.

So whats your thoughts on the doctors where the variant originated saying publicly that the symptons are extremely mild and theres no evidence yet of it being more transmissible or will cause more hospitalisations or deaths?' does it not become just another variant like the countless others that have done the rounds' it seems theres no substance atm to justify the hype...

Its only been identified very recently. What they do seem to know is that its far more infectious than the already very infectious delta variant. And rightly, that should be of a concern at the point where the temperature drops and people huddle in spaces together.

It's going to take time for them to analyse it and see what happens as more people fall ill.

I think we should all be hoping beyond hope that it causes less severe symptoms and therefore it kills and hospitalises less people.

I'm extremely hopeful that the doctors suggesting the variant is mild are right. I think it's early days yet to assess the new variant accurately and until that point people are being understandably cautious.
    It's simple really.

Whenever a new virus or strain appears you have to go hard and fast to stop it's spread. This needs to be done until a time we understand that the vaccines are working and what it's effects are. At the minute we don't have the answers, so it's a case of being safe than sorry.
Nothing dodgy going on, it's just standard practice.
Remember we in the West are still new to this, we're just trying to follow the South East Asian model after their experiences with SARS.
For once the government have reacted.
The only money that's been made from this in this country are linked to the VIP PPE and Track and Trace scandals. All Tory donors or mates of Tories.

Believe you me I’ve no wish to defend Bojo over this but he and the government were righty canned all down last year for continuously beginning behind the curve. Now he is being canned for over reacting. If he wasn’t such a utterly useless wassock I could almost fell sorry for him

There's inevitably hysteria in the press that goes alongside everything. It gets clicks and sells papers unfortunately.
I'm hoping against hope that this new variant turns out to be not much of a threat. We're hoping to go to Colombia for two months after Xmas to stay with her sister but daren't book the tickets now.
    Fingers firmly crossed.

Was a flaming hot guy until I found McCoy's Piri Piri crisps. So good with beer, also recommend chilli peanuts. Had a few last night watching NFL, Niners won so will do the same next Sunday.
Only downside, my the morning motions sounded like a howitzer.

Have you tried Seabrook's hot ridged range from Tesco. They are explosive. It's like eating a phaal curry in a bag.
