Its not a viewpoint it’s factual. A third of ICU beds are taken up by Covid patients. The vast majority of which are unvaccinated. It may be a uncomfortable truth for you and your fellow travellers but it is the truth and no amount of whataboutery will change it.
Are any of those highly transmissible and easily preventable? There’s your answer. Obese people are cut out from a whole range of operations.
And let's not forget that obesity has been known to cause a more serious adverse reaction to covid for 18 months which is more than enough time to lose quite a few stone. Anyone selfish enough not to do so who ends up in hospital should be refused treatment right? Logically there's no difference in whether they're taking up an ICU bed because they're selfishly obese or selfishly unvaccinated. The end result is the same. Difference is one is popular to attack, the other isn't.
Is obesity easily preventable? Extremely. Don't eat more calories than you use Are alcohol related hospital admissions easily preventable? Yes. Don't CHOOSE to drink so much. Is smoking easily preventable? Yes don't start smoking. I wonder how many on the list struck a nerve with you. Youve certainly done your best to deflect from them
My point relates to the strain imposed upon the NHS. We could certainly take steps to reduce the burden caused by voluntary unhealthy excess. For the sake of clarity, I'm all for jabbing anything over 12 that is human.
That is a woefully simplistic comment on all three issues, SuperTyke. Often, none of those three problems are anything like as straightforward as you make out.
Seems pretty simple to me. You can't become addicted to smoking if you dont choose to become a smoker for example. However yes it was overly simple to demonstrate that certain people only give a toss about one lot of people not all the others. Covid kills fat people. It just does. With that in mind anyone who is fat has a bloody good motivation for losing weight yet so many haven't done so and nobody judges them. Personally I dont really care if someone is fat, a smoker, an alcoholic or whatever. The NHS is for all and nobody should be judged
No but whataboutery is pointless. I don’t drink to excess have never smoked and while slightly porkier than I should be wouldn’t call myself obese so no. Alcoholism. Often linked with a whole host of other problems including mental health, abuse etc. Not an easy fix or as ‘preventable’ as you say. Around 90% of those who are being treated by MH Services have issues with substances including drink drugs or nicotine. Obesity already disqualifies your from a whole range of NHS treatments but again it’s causes can be poverty, MH issues or a whole range of other things so no it’s not easily preventable. Govts spend billions on staff and campaigns to tackle those issues. A small jab they despite what your mate Shazza on Facebook tells you is incredibly unlikely to have any side affects is of course an easy way to stop yourself dying an agonising painful death. I don’t know if you have ever seen anyone die from Pneumonia I did last Christmas by iPad when we watched my uncle go. It looked incredibly painful and frightening.
This whole ‘Stacey from Facebook’ is the new Karen isn’t it? You seriously don’t need to talk to me like I’m forming my opinion in that way. We both know, or at least I hoped we’d know, that isn’t how I work. Obesity doesn’t help the NHS does it?
I don't have Facebook and as previously mentioned I've had both of my vaccinations. And no I haven't. However I wasn't even allowed to visit my relative when they were rushed I to hospital due to having all treatment stopped 9 months earlier when we turned the NHS off. We all have stories. Life's **** for everyone
‘You and your fellow travellers’. You crack on Jimmy Boy. Your inability to hold a civil conversation doesn’t get any better, so to an earlier posters viewpoint, ‘Why bother?’. Just agree to disagree
It's his way of trying to be superior and look down at us thickos. Much like he was trying to look down on my sister because her CHILD became distressed by the constant bombardment of covid terror from the media by saying it was her fault. Jimmy is perfect
You are not quite in the Dreamboy field of ‘research’ but sometimes not far off it. Obese people are often excluded from many NHS operations. A friend for example was denied rape counselling due to problems with obesity and drinking which ironically enough were a result of the incident that made her need the counselling.
Far from it But given your simplistic almost childlike views expressed on alcoholism, addiction and obesity it’s very hard not to patronise Simone with less of a grasp on these things than my 9 year old.
you can agree to disagree on many things. You can hold many opinions and I would defend your right to hold them whether I agreed or not. Facts on the other hand are just facts and spreading ‘alternative facts’ has got us not the stater street in and should be challenged at every opportunity
Give over. I’m miles away from that so don’t take cheap shots. I never share anything that isn’t credible, back up opinions with my own reasoning, acknowledge other opinions, but despite all that I’m not as superior as you try to come across in every post. You’re consistent though I’ll give you that.
I’m not quite sure what you’re take on my point of view is, but I’ll make it clear. Im in favour of people being vaccinated of their own free will. What I do struggle to reconcile is that those who choose to be unvaccinated get priority in the NHS system if they are ill with it. Where is the freedom of choice for cancer sufferers in need urgent treatment? As for next winter I sincerely hope all this is well behind us by then, but if isn’t by think the government will choose to go down the enforcement route That is if you can really call taxing people for the privilege of not being vaccinated enforcement
