If he was fouled by an Arsenal player I'd agree with you, but because he got his foot trodden on by his own team mate, I don't see how the game can be stopped.
I get what you’re saying. But for me it doesn’t matter, if the keeper is on the floor for whatever reason surely you can’t just whack it into an unguarded net? That feels wrong. Again happy to agree to disagree.
His own player stood on his foot basically, I'm sure it hurt but nowhere near enough to go down and stay down. If I were his team-mate I would be asking why on earth he didn't just carry on. I'm sick to death of seeing footballers down in pain when we all know they are fine. It's pathetic and really puts me off the game. We've all been conditioned to accept it now. It's embarrassing, head injuries yes, and you can normally spot when someone is seriously hurt. I don't know the solution, maybe if you require treatment you have to have a 5 minute medical time out or be subbed.
Was thinking exactly the same thing Archey, but couldn't find highlights of the game. So thanks for that. Also, how does the ref not give a pen for the trip on Jovo? Nothing changes
I think the ref had heard about how animated Jovo used to get, and just wanted to see that I still like the one against Man Utd in the cup replay at Oakwell. Mike Riley was booking him for an 'elbow' on David Beckham, and there's a great clip of Jovo repeatedly asking "why?"
And that's the problem with referees. They have already made their minds up what they are going to do before the game. They don't referee what they see on the day
