The NZ spinner Patel has taken all 10 wickets in a Test innings. Without checking I don’t know precisely how rare that happens but I can’t recall it during my time.
I am pretty sure that you are right and it was at Old Trafford in the fifties in the days when the wickets weren't covered and you could get a glue-pot to bat on. I am sure Laker got nineteen wickets. There should be some footage in old black and white. Have a look also at the way that none of the Aussie batsmen walked, but waited to be given out. They didn't enjoy it one bit.
You are correct only Tony Lock nipping in with one of the openers to spoil Lakers chance of perfection I think it might have been a spinners wicket Scorecard here if you are interested https://www.espncricinfo.com/series...nd-vs-australia-4th-test-62814/full-scorecard
Tony Lock at the other end only managed a single wicket in the match, despite being a fantastic left arm spinner. One of life's mysteries.
