Being described as ‘clever’ Just watching a bit of the women’s cup final, Arsenal player feels brush on her leg goes down like she’s been shot, clever says the commentator.
Losing interest with the sport unfortunately. Iv not been interested in the Premier League for a long time now, won't be long before I sack it off all together.
It’s ridiculous and no doubt filters down to the kiddies leagues too, as they imitate what they see on MOTD etc. Even with penalties it annoys me. A player doesn’t ‘win’ a penalty, the offending player/team is penalised and the opposition awarded a penalty. I think commentators have a lot to answer for too.
It’s not just on the field though, cheating goes on in every facet of the game, from board room to car park.
Me too, only really care about Barnsley. Can’t stand the fact that players dive and play for free kicks and referees fall for it. If they were booked each time, it might make them think twice. The likes of Shearer and Owen were masters at conning referees and made me dislike them especially as they were both talented enough not to have to resort to it.
Don’t get me started on goalkeepers time wasting. When I see a goalkeeper clattered from a corner it’s a joy to behold, providing he isn’t actually hurt of course. But the protection they get from referees when another player breathes on them, and the amount they get away with holding onto the ball as long as possible really boils my ****.
To be honest it's nothing new, Francis Lee admitted that he used a trick where he would trip one foot over the other when surging into the box, the only difference is now that there is no hiding place, every game is covered by multiple cameras, instant replays & of course good old VAR, professional players have always conned officials but today every minute is analysed & the conmen get found out
Yes, but nothing gets done about it though. That's the trouble. They know they'll be playing again next week and get up to their antics. It needs stamping down on, so they don't do it
Love watching tarn but even when we dive or cheat in any way on the pitch it kills me bin said previously but the game itself is in.a downward spiral of peoples terminology of winning a foul or clever play I hate it
Correct it's f1cking w4nk. I'm only 28 and I speak to people 6 year younger than me that the early 2000s and late 90s football was like roman times.
So long as other teams cheat like fúck, I want us to cheat like fúck. We're already at a financial disadvantage, so we don't need to be handicapped in other ways, too. Roll around screaming, take a million years at goal kicks, and get in the ref's face. Whatever it takes.
I dont want us to cheat at all and want us to play fair - maybe I am naive But I do want to see a change in the way cheating is accepted and the pundits who applaud "clever play" should be taken off air
What a game of football that would be. It'd be like Huddersfield away without the escaping relegation drama bit, every single week. The keepers keep the ball, literally. With a few screams in the refs face, and a few rolls on the ground. Not for me. Rather play an honest game successfully, like last year, where we didn't have to worry what the opposition were doing, or their antics, because on the whole we were too good for them.
I've no pretensions as to aesthetics, entertainment, or fair play. I am happy to win 1-0, with diabolical football, played by a bunch of horrendous cheats. Win, or at least don't get beaten. Everything else is for the birds.
