Are we saying that Yorkshire CCC shouldn't employ anyone with past connections to the club?
Surely that can't be right, people like Goughy have a genuine affection for the YCCC.
    I think it's a good appointment.

No I don't think I'm saying that - or i hope I'm not. I've just checked and Gough was last employed by Yorkshire in 2008 - and I believe Rafiq would have been at the club then also. I don't even know what I'm saying to be honest.

I guess I just don't want a coach appointed, then a few months later it becomes apparent that due to his previous links with Yorkshire that he was involved in any of the Institutional Racism at the club.

    Or I think that's what I'm saying.

It's a minefield to be honest. Just because someone was at the club when the alleged racist incidents took place shouldn't make them guilty by association.
I'd hate for some good honest Yorkshire ex players to be overlooked because of this.

Didn’t Durham do a similar thing a few years ago get a new CEO , Director of Cricket and First Team Coach . My only problem with Gough is he is a product of the system they should be replacing , fresh approaches are needed .

To be honest I have no knowledge at all about Gough as a person. I never listen to talksport or really have any desire to from what I hear about it so I can't judge him from that. He might turn out to be just the man for the job but as far as I can see he has no experience for the role and is not the completely new broom you would have expected.
Hopefully it works out but it's a fingers crossed reaction from me at the moment.

    ?
Well, he's seen first hand how it's affected Rafiq so hopefully that in itself is a powerful motivator to kick on and push the club forward. I'm prepared to give him a chance, he has the love and experience of the club after all.
