Both Oxford and Doncaster Fans raving over him tonight apparently best player on the pitch. Think its time we recalled him
They’ll need some cash. Signed for £1.25m if reports are true and still has 2 1/2 years left on his contract. Hope he’s not sold to raise some quick cash cos no other players draw any bids in the window.
He's played well against an awful Doncaster Rovers side who will be down before the Christmas trimmings. Let's not get too far ahead of ourselves.
If we sell him they can use some of the money to buy some more Blackpool tangerine paint to cover the west stand in.
We were well short in midfield last year, and that was with Mowatt and a manager who would probably quite happily have played without a midfield altogether if he'd been able to. Sending Kane out on loan given our midfield after Mowatt left ranks as one of the more mad decisions I've seen the club make. I thought it was a bit odd at the time, but our (lack of) subsequent recruitment in that area has my mind well and truly boggled. I'd love to get the inside track on what the hell anybody thought they were doing this summer - as far as I can see it's monkeys and typewriters.
Way too many comments in this thread that jump to the conclusion that keeping Kane would have led to him finding the form he is with Oxford. He needed the loan away, we needed him to go and get what he needed, and as a result hopefully he’ll be back in a Reds shirt being the player many of us thought he was originally. It wasn’t a stupid decision if there was a chance he could have gone backwards further.
Good point. Let’s hope he can kick on with us - the blueprint is there with Mowatt. Herbie definitely has the talent
Got to be better than anyone we currently have in center mid apart from possibly gomes. Get him back asap.
Not really a case of whether he wants to come back to be fair. He signed a contract with us for four years so has no choice if we could/do cut short the loan. I agree that he probably won't want to though!
He's been getting rave reviews most of the season from Oxford fans. We're incredibly light in midfield. A fit and firing Herbie Kane might be just what we're missing.
If he comes back and he's given the chance, I can't see why he wouldn't want to come back. If we recall him from his loan, stick him on the bench and use him sparingly, a bit like Devante Cole, then I can see him wanting a permanent move away in the summer.
