I feel a bit sorry for Vince. The modern Ramprakash. He always seems to be brought in to be the fall guy. He's never had a proper run.

He's probably no worse than any of the others in there. But he's had chances and never shown the application to make a slot in the batting order his own. Thats the problem we have. We make a change and its someone we've tried before who's failed plenty of times previously with no or very few successes.

Ah, the Ashes. One of those competitions where I literally cannot lose. Makes a change.

Cracking innings by Eeeud, as nobody but me calls him over here.

That was Burns' 6th test duck this calendar year, a new record. How on earth he managed to get bowled around his legs first ball is beyond me.......

It's not nice singling someone out but you just can't drop catches like that anywhere, it was regulation. He allowed Warner to double his score and those runs could be crucial. If he fails with the bat in the 2nd innings then he should be dropped for Adelaide.

I actually thought England bowled pretty well without much luck. Woakes (who I said shouldn't have been selected) was steady away, Robinson plugged away and some of those Aussies were a little uncomfortable with Wood's pace. Leach didn't bowl badly but the batsman targeted him and took him apart, not a lot he could have done differently.

It's truly one of the worst dismissals I've seen at this level of cricket. An opening batsman just should never get out that way. Alistair Cook would have clipped that for 4 with no problem at all.

There has to be something wrong with his set up at the wicket, surely? Don't know what guard he took but the ball was angled across him and there's just no way his leg stump should be exposed.

Nasser Hussain's analysis was that he's overly nervous, and that causes all his trigger movements to become exaggerated, meaning his front foot was too far outside offstump.

    Looks ok on delivery release:

    Looks ok half way down:

The suddenly, bang, his front foor is on 6th stump:

Lots of English players in the Big Bash we can call up. Problem is the in form players playing it in are guys like Jordan and Tom Curran when we need batters.

Having gone to bed after seeing the wicket off a no ball, it was no surprise to see the game had gone when I got up this morning. The only surprise was who had got the century. I'm guessing that it was another case of a batter attacking, and our bowlers not being able to deal with it, like we've seen numerous times in the past.

And the clips of the fielding that I've seen were spectacularly bad. Hameed could've run up and taken the bails off in time, and the drop from Burns was terrible.

    5-0 beckons.

Crikey, that front foot position is unbelievable.
Always thought his technique was a bit sketchy at the best of times. He's not exactly text book is he lol?

I don't get with all the one day cricket being played why batsman are getting worse playing on the leg side.

Burns looked too preoccupied with the prospect of nicking off, that he decided to take his guard somewhere around point.

The rest of the batting looked like Australia's batting at Melbourne 2010 and Trent Bridge 2015

I agree with you but with that front foot position it makes it a lot harder to play off his legs.
It's hard enough to stay upright and not fall over from there!

To play through the legside your head needs to be inline with the ball. His is in line with 3rd slip I think.

We bowled quite well yesterday but this is embarrassing ffs. Talk about letting them take the game completely away from us in these 30 minutes. Pathetic.

(I don't blame you if you have - we're making these Aussie tail enders look like world beaters!).
