You can download your covid domestic or travel pass from NHS app then add the pass to Google pay. Therefore when I show my season past that I also have downloaded to Google pay I show my covid travel pass. I presume you can so something similar with non android phones
Is it just me that has seen that you can show proof of a negative lateral flow or are we just pretending vaccines have become mandatory now? If they ever do become mandatory, I'll be kicking off about it myself. Until then, I'd rather not get worked up about a hypothetical situation.
My Google pay app doesn't work for my season ticket. Got a paper passport before but had my booster since.
Yes you can use a lateral flow test to get a vaccine passport valid for 48 hours as long as you are computer savvy enough to log the result on the NHS website and either have a smart phone or access to a computer and printer Its a faff - especially for the older supporters that don't really get computers. And I am baffled as to how a large open air all seater stadium half full needs a pass but a smaller packed stadium with terraces doesnt
Its only valid for 2 to 3 days and then expires so you would have to go through that process regularly surely Edit: Just read the NHS blurb and its updated each time you open it but if you use PDF versions you will have to be wary of validity. Says in blurb its valid for 30 days, but mine only ever appears valid for 2.
There's things like toilets, concourses and stairwells to consider as well. The open air bit isn't as safe as it sounds either. I can remember being showered in spit from people singing behind me in pre-COVID times. We laughed it off at the time, but I imagine this is always happening to some degree, although usually less dramatically and unnoticed. That's why I'm not going currently.
Thats where the West Stand has a huge advantage - an open air concourse and although there is now a roof on the bogs they are still well ventilated
Be a good gesture if the club allowed fans to have iFollow link until vaccine passports pissed back off. Those that take up the offer it gives them more seats to sell in the stadium. Win win.
But that isn't up to the club though. I guess the EFL would argue that Cardiff and Swansea have had this system in place already, without iFollow access.
The club wanted to allow ST holders access to iFollow this season anyway but the EFL wouldnt allow it - I think that will only change if capacitly restrictions are brought back unfortunately even though it makes a lot of sense for anyone who is a bit vulnerable
I'm currently faffing about with the NHS website in order to download the Covid pass. It's a pain. I've set up my Login, but now have to verify my identity, which is complicated by my GP only having my landline number, but the website only having an option for a mobile number. So I probably need to contact my surgery and amend my phone number. Alternatively I can prove my identity by taking a digital photo of my passport or drivers licence (if it's a photo version) and uploading - but this alternative takes a bit longer for them to process (up to 24 hours). Or I can request a paper copy. No idea how long that takes to arrive. Anyway, what I was getting round to saying is... my advice is don't leave it until the last minute.
Request a paper copy it will be here long before the WBA game or at least it should be. Much easier to show a letter than rely on getting a connection at a busy stadium and signing in and hoping the app works like it wasn't last night.
Cheers. Sent for it, seemed a lot easier to do than faffing with the digital version - for me, at any rate. Says it should be here within 5 days. Fingers crossed...
Probably better to load the app and pass up before being in the vicinity of Oakwell. Although I’m not sure what log out time the app has…
There will be information provided, once the EFL clarifies the position with its clubs. There are meetings taking place regards it. And in fairness, the government announced this less than 24 hours ago and have given clubs a bloody week to sort out. We aren’t at home until a week tomorrow so hopefully we have more news well in advance of that. I hope so, because it’s poor staff at the club who have to contend with all this added nonsense. As for folk suggesting ifollow, that’s again down to the EFL. And I would imagine is a non-starter unless we go into some kind of lockdown again.
Didn`t expect detail so soon but an acknowledgement that the club are on top of the situation. Newsbot has given the required update.
