But I don't think we actually deserved to lose We didn't deserve to win either but I felt draw was fair. Was surprised to log on and see a complete free for all melt down tbh. Yes we are *****, but I don't think we deserved that today. Anyway, only checked in as I'm at a house warming. And I'm gunna get steaming. Have a good evening all. Just remember not to tear strips of each other. We are all reds at heart
I didn’t think we were awful but we could easily have been 1-0 down after about a minute. I’d have described it as two poor sides with PNE just edging it. On xg we were 0.92 v PNE on 1.25 which sort of supports that view. Over the last four games under Poya we’ve taken 2 points, the PNE game was our best xg performance and the only one of the last four where xg suggested we should get a draw.
Problem is mate we lost. You don't always get what you deserve and based on recent history, Poya has drawn a lot of games. That's no good to us now, it's **** or bust time.
We certainly didn’t deserve to win but I don’t think PNE did either a draw would have been fairer but we can’t defend like we did an expect to get points
The problem is 4 games under poya 2 goals scored 0 wins. If you dont score goals you dont win. Getting everyone behind the ball in the hope of a draw isnt a great tactic.
And the next 4 games look tough: WBA and Stoke at home, Blackburn and Forest away. Followed by a break for the FA Cup, with a good chance of an upset as Ipswich come to Oakwell, with the stands no doubt very sparsely populated. Seasons greetings one and all...
0 points from those games, I'm afraid. So after the inevitable defeat at the City Ground on 3rd Jan 22, we will have accumulated 13 points from 26 league games, what a ******* effort!!!
Overall a draw might’ve been a fair result, but I think we deserved to lose just for the defending of that free kick alone.
Doesn't alter the facts, we are not winning. Only experience will get us out of this mess and mr Conway and company do not believe in experience and knowledge
Not denying any of that to be honest. Just basing it on the performance of the players today. It warranted more than zero points. We are far from being stable, but I can see more since poya came in than what we've done. Is it too late, I don't know. But we seem "better" in my opinion. I guess I'm living in hope more than anything that we can do enough to avoid the drop. I feel we have more chance now, than we did say 5 weeks ago
By which point we'll then need nearly 2 points a game from the remaining 20 games to reach 50. In other words, championship winning form to avoid relegation. If we lose these next 4, all hope will be gone.
Same old story. Crap forward thread threat and unnecessary soft underbelly. When you watch away games on ifollow (from Canada) you can watch the inevitable unfold. You know that sooner or later we'll concede in the same way. Apart from today when their second goal was out of the infant playground.
Doesn't matter in the slightest what the performance of the players warranted what matters is what they got and that was **** all the new manager bounce as yielded 2 points out of 12. He's gone back to odour up front for Christ sake if he really is a better option up front than the actual front players who weren't picked today why the hell did we sign them and why the hell are still paying their wages.
Oh no. Don’t say that Steve. I’m hoping Barrow beat Ipswich. That means when they get the inevitable draw at Oakwell, I’ll get to visit their ground.
Having watched the extended highlights, it seemed fairly similar to the Huddersfield game, in that we more than held our own for an hour, gave away a ridiculous goal, equalised, then ran out of steam. I certainly see improvements under Poya compared to Schopp, but I'm still not convinced that he's changed much.
