I can make a great case for Sarah Story but she has no chance as disability sport isnt a high enough profile Also Adam Peaty would be a deserving winner but its all irrelevant Radacanu will win it and its hard to argue she wouldnt deserve it either
You do know that the Dutch Fella has been nominated for International SPOY - though we dont get to vote in that one as no way would he win it now given a free vote of the British Public
Josh who? Might not be fair but outside of boxing he’s unknown. Fury did grab the headlines and is one of the heavyweight champions.
Emma will win, but for me it would be a toss up between Adam Peaty a truly world class performer over a number of years or Sarah Storey for her success over many years.
That should be irrelevant really. I understand your point but it’s a competition that’s about sporting achievement. I don’t think many casual sport fans realise just what Taylor’s achieved. He’s unified an entire division & sits top 5 on pretty much every boxing fans P4P list in less than 20 fights. I think his last 6 opponents have had just one loss between them which came against Terence Crawford. I think the only two British fighters to be top 5 P4P in the last 20 years are Calzaghe & Hatton. Fury will almost certainly be SPOTY if he beats Usyk (or Joshua) to unify all 4 belts unless England win the World Cup. It’s an incredible achievement.
4 European Gold, 2 Olympic Gold and a World Record in 2021 for Peaty, 3 Olympic Gold for Storey both sounds like a pretty good year. Oh and Peaty also won Sportsman of the year voted by Sports Journalists.
I wasn’t suggesting that they weren’t worthy contenders for the year 2021. Indeed Peaty would seem to be the one to beat.
